It works pretty well so far and it also doesn't seem to slow down the navigation.
I really hope this add-on will be regularly updated.
It does a good job at hiding all those distracting (and often annoying) features of Youtube and it could potentially boost your productivity.
I wonder why there are so few add-ons that do this, it seems like a pretty simple task and yet so useful.

I do have a small complaint: if "Hide Recommended videos" is checked, when you browse through a channel and go under "Playlists" nothing shows there.

Works Great!

Works as described. It's great for watching videos about controversial topics; all of the arguing and attention-seeking in the comments is out of sight and out of mind. This extension keeps me in a good mood when I'm on Youtube.

Exactly what I needed. Works so far flawlessly! :)

Huray! no more comments, and optionally no other rubbish. And if you *must* see/add a comment for a video, just turn it back on temporarily from the drop-down menu. But only for helpful/instructional vids, not the NASA-flat-Earthers.

Doesn't stop ads, but there are other plugins to do that if you want.

No other addon than this one does what I was looking for, hidding the "up next" sidebar. Thanks whoever did this.

Does what it advertises however I have a few gripes (this is feedback for 0.4pre5):

- after installing, it requires a page refresh to hide the comments
- there's no placeholder; sometimes I scroll down and forget the comments are blocked and wait for them to load (YouTube by default shows the same white space for a few seconds, even without the extension). Some text like "No comments here :)" would be helpful to remind me the comments are blocked
- also there's a typo :P "Prefrences" should be "Preferences"

Edit: Disregard the review below. Previously I gave this three stars, but the add-on hasn't been updated in two years, and the beta versions I mentioned below have been removed. There's no indication that the developer is taking any steps to fix the issues with this add-on. Therefore I've reduced my rating to one star.

Pretty nice! This makes YouTubing a much less chaotic experience! Only gripes for the current release are: 1) "Hide Related videos and sidebar" also hides the playlist sidebar when you're watching a video in a playlist; 2) "Hide comments" also makes it impossible to view playlists themselves.

The beta versions I've tried (0.4pre3–0.4pre5) fix the latter issue. However, they also move the preferences from a toolbar button to the add-ons page. For this type of add-on I think that's a poor decision. If I'm watching a video, and suddenly decide I want to see the sidebar, I don't want to have to pause the video, open a new tab, and navigate to preferences in order to do that, and then do the same thing again when I want to hide the sidebar again. This is the kind of add-on where you should be able to change preferences on the fly.

Unfortunately since Firefox Quantum came out I don't get it to work anymore :( I keep seeing those annoying comments which rarely contribute anything.

My specs: Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit, english version, Firefox Quantum (57.0 64-bit).

Have been using your add-on for months now and love it. Hope it will work again soon and if there's anything I'm doing wrong just let me now. Thanks!
