Use custom CSS code for Firefox 57+ ( https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx/issues/2 ) to keep classic ui features or switch to Waterfox browser ( https://www.waterfoxproject.org/ - a Firefox fork with support for legacy add-ons) to keep classic add-ons.
i've always had a hard time seeing the gray on gray scroll bar especially when the scroll bar is small on a long page, and loved this add-on to give full customization. what a shame to lose it with the release of quantum. hopefully in the future they will allow UI changes.
In favor of your eyes I suggest to move to Waterfox and keep using this add-on.
Mozilla has plans to add some kind of scrollbar customization support in the future, but nothing concrete yet.
I love this theme. but it won't let me use it on the updated firefox.
Scrollbars can not be modified anymore in Firefox 57+.
Using in Firefox 56.0.2 - makes the scrollbars look a hundred times better. Will consider switching to Waterfox 55 if future Firefox updates are not compatible with NewScrollbars.
please update to the current version 58
It is not possible Firefox 57+ does not support ui changing add-ons. WebExtensions can not changes scrollbars, not even userChrome.css/userContent.css can.
Not compatible with vesion 57 :(
Do you have in your plans to make it to work with FF 57?
These kind of add-ons are no supported by Firefox/Mozilla in Firefox 57+ anymore. Nothing I can do about.
Read this: https://github.com/Aris-t2/ClassicThemeRestorer/issues/299/
Switch either to Firefox 52 ESR or Waterfox 55.+.
Both support NoiaScrollbar add-ons after Firefox 57 release.
Waterfox lets you import your Firefox profile, so you won't lose anything from your current setup.
I have no idea what part of my gnome desktop was making the scroll bars in Firefox (only) disappear but this restores them quite nicely.
I can now see the scroll bar and customize it
It is not me "abandoning" this add-on, but Mozillas decision to drop supporting this kind of add-ons. Nothing developers can do about.
Feel free to use it in Firefox 52.X ESR for one more year.
If it will be possible to replace scrollbars in Firefox 57+ one day, I might try to create a new add-on.
buen diseño y colores. Se agradece el aporte.
Looks good, works perfect and it's awesome :)
Es muy bueno. Recomendable.
It does everything it says and with intuitive customization. Definitely worth a contribution to the author.
I'm glad I found this addon because I couldn't see the bar neither. Now I even like it a lot, I never thought I could have a nice one :)
Windows 10 made the scroll bar hard to see, light grey or white on white (SUCKS). A lot of people complained but no solution, even changing the Registry won't work. aka NoiaScrollbars makes the scroll bar reappear more visible in Firefox. Other Windows and Office remain sucks.
... since FF48.0.1 or so, it cannot change the scrollbar background color anymore (macOSX.8.5). In FF47 and older, this was no problem using the "v2" mode of NewScrollbars.
You are right, something changed in browsers scrollbar code. I will look into it.
Schieberegler in #5CACEE und transparenter Hintergrund! :)
Top! Danach hab ich gesucht. :)
very important extension
Just classes up the appearance of the page. Great useful add on.
This is one of nice addon!
Excelente complemento! :D
Thanks, it works.
Long time I suffered being unable to see a scrollbar, that was almost white on white. I can not imagine how the Firefox designers could come to such ugly decision. This addon make me happy today! A lot of thanks to the author!
The Noia themes are all absolutely hideous but the transparent theme looks good. I wish there was a preview (or an interactive/live mockup if a preview isn't possible) so that you know what was happening when configuring your bars.
Firefox only renders/displays/updates scrollbars after a page gets (re)loaded, so there can not be a live preview of your changes.
This add-ons size is less than 90KB. Adding any live mockups / preredered images of countless possible scrollbar variations would not only increase the add-ons size by an unknown factor, but would also require a large amount of additional code without any benefits after configuration.
If you really need a live preview, you can open your library window (bookmarks, history... etc.) and a folder that offers a scrollbar within the library. Most changes inside NewScrollbars add-on go live on that window, after you change something.
