i'm sorry you're offended by this theme, based on the fact that you think "maoli" is a new zealand word. in fact, the new zealand word you're thinking of is "maori", and yes, "maoli" is a hawaiian word, and it actually does mean native. to be exact, the complete pronunciation would be "kanaka maoli", meaning "native", "native man". and i also think this theme happens to be fun, and that is what this is about right? fun! and i am of mostly hawaiian decent, so i guess my opinion does count.
