Works great, even if the toggle is almost too discrete Assegnate 5 su 5 stelle

The add on worked for me. I was having problems with a website bug where the flash uploader wasn't working. By disabling flash I could access the alternate upload mode.

Many reviewers had problems locating the icon. Its in the lower right hand corner, an f in a red circle. It toggles red and grey. Flash is blocked when it is red.

Does not work in private browsing mode...

Just what I needed, I use it with the "youtube all html5 1.0.4" add-on

I think Mozilla has done a good job on the nightly versions with the 'allow now' or 'allow and remember' options for the plugins, which will render this add-on unnecessary.

0.3.1 - confirmed bug Assegnate 3 su 5 stelle

suffers from same problem as FlashDisable...

the plugin toggles "plugin.state.flash" between "0" and "2"

the default value for "plugin.state.flash" is "" (blank)

when "plugin.state.flash" is set to "0", it causes problems - in my case it causes a WordPress plugin to fail

this is confirmed to be the case on a clean profile

FF23. Waste of time. No icon.

Does what it is supposed to, but please fix. Assegnate 4 su 5 stelle

In previous version of Firefox it worked great, it would enable and disable flash not just by blocking flash content, which is what I wanted. However, it does not work with FF22.0 Beta. The icon does not show up in the addon bar and there is no button in the customize toolbar dialogue. There is only one improvement I would like to suggest: make the icon more responsive, currently, it does not change color until a significant amount of time AFTER you click it.

Bout time someone gave us this!!! Thank you "zeror". (Works fine with Firefox 20.0) Assegnate 5 su 5 stelle

Controlling "Flash" is very useful (see "WHY" below). "zeror's" button makes this much easier to do. I can place it on any Firefox menu bar so I don’t have to bring up the Firefox plug-in page to enable/disable "Flash". It works fine with Firefox 20.0 on an X64 Windows 7 laptop. It also seems to get around an intermittent problem Firefox has re-enabling "Flash" in its plug-in page. (Possibly Aram’s problem, Dec 7, 2012. See "NOTE" below for getting around the Firefox plug-in page problem.)

TIP – If you want to disable/remove "Flash OnOff", first use it to turn "Flash" on. Then disable/remove. That way you don’t have to deal with the Firefox plug-in page problem later.

WHY DISABLE "FLASH"? – I use "Flash" in Firefox for videos, music, displaying local radar, etc. Some of these things use a lot of CPU power even if they are on tabs not currently being viewed and pausing "Flash" media doesn't help much. "Adblock" helps a lot by stopping obnoxious "Flash" ad stuff. But one click of the "Flash" OnOff button and ALL "Flash" stuff stops on all tabs allowing my CPU and cooling fan to idle back (less noise, longer laptop battery time, more CPU power for other stuff). This way I don't have to kill tabs to kill the "Flash" stuff on them. I can leave the tabs up and then can easily restart the "Flash" stuff one page at a time using page refresh once the "Flash OnOff" button is set back on.

TIP – After using the "Flash OnOff" button to turn "Flash" off you can immediately set the button back on. The "Flash" stuff in all of your tabs will stay off until the individual pages are refreshed. This way the "Flash" stuff in any new pages you bring up will start immediately.

NOTE – Firefox plug-in page has a bug. Re-enabling "Flash" ("Shockwave Flash") in the Firefox plug-in page doesn’t always work the first time. After clicking the enable button the plug-in page automatically updates to show "Flash" enabled when in fact it may still be disabled plus there will no longer be an enable button for a retry. So after attempting to enable "Flash" this way always manually refresh the plug-in page using the hotkey sequence "ctrl+r". This way the true state of "Flash" is revealed and the enable button reappears if a retry is needed.

TIP – The easiest way to bring up the Firefox plug-in page is to bring up the Firefox "Add-ons Manager" using the hotkey sequence, "ctrl+shift+A". Then click "Plugin" (the tab on the left of that page).

Don't see it Assegnate 1 su 5 stelle

Doesn't seem to do anything for my Firefox 17. It's awfully hard to see your tiny little graphics which I guess is suppose to show us how this works, but from what I can tell, I don't see an "F" symbol on the Flash video to even click on. The annoying Flash advertising still runs with this installed.

it turned my love to hell after installing. Whether I enable or disable, it doesn't show me any flash content anymore.

I even uninstalled flash onOff and I still don't see flash videos!

Huge bug may be?

Wonderful add-on; Small and Simple.

I rarely use flash unless I watch a video that needs it.

This allows me to toggle with click of the button! :)

Superb.

@tenticals I believe that is Xmarks(?).

Works great, exactly what i was looking for. And i gotta ask, what is the name of the add-on with the rating stars in the add-on bar next to the screen shoots?

Works great! Assegnate 5 su 5 stelle

Just started using it today and it seems to work great. An easy way to disable flash (and the annoying slide in/down ads) with just a button click.
