Really useful Left Edge functions! Esp Back Button. Replaces/Improves MileWideBack. Assegnate 5 su 5 stelle

I was looking for a replacement for the (defunct) MileWIdeBack "click on left edge to go back" big back button function. This extension does that. But it also allows me to add other useful left edge functions. Most notably scroll to switch tabs and double-click to reload. AWESOME! Works well with Firefox on Ubuntu 16.04 at least so far.

imporve delay/double click Assegnate 5 su 5 stelle

First: Thanks a lot for bringing milewideback to life again!

Unfortunately I'm expierencing problems with the delay time and double click behaviour. I really liked how fast you could close several tabs with milewideback with several fast middle-clicks. But I'm unable to reproduce this behaviour with EdgeWise.
Even if I don't set any actions for Double-Click, it is not possible to close e.g. two tabs with a double click (instead nothing is happening).

I propose to just use the delay time and double-click detection if there is an action specified for the double-click gesture. If "n/a" is specified, just instantly execute the single-click action after every mousebutton-up event. This should work no?

Response to your answer:
Thanks a lot!
another minor idea: The yellow background color in the options looks a bit unprofessional, I think leaving it at the default color might look better :)

Delay/Double Click SOLVED

The latest EdgeWise (version 3.1.0) has 2 new solutions to the delayed Single-Click EWA execution:

You can instantly execute the EWA Single-Click assigned to a button by AltKey + Click.
That is, by holding down the "AltKey" and then Left-, Middle-, or Right-Clicking, you will
execute the Single-Click EWA defined for that button instantly.

Alternatively, you can customize a button's Double-Click EWA with the "n/a" Action.
Then, EdgeWise will automatically execute that button's Single-Click EWA instantly. This
provides true "Fast Single-Click Action" (no keypress required), but sacrifices the
button's Double- and Long-Click Actions, as they can never be executed.

Your suggestion of using "n/a" is footnoted in the Tutorial. Thanks again.

Please update to version 3.1.0, then test and review.

Just like the previous user said, tab closing on the "side midbutton click" has a delay Assegnate 5 su 5 stelle

Looking for an alternative to milewideback I want to give this one another chance. I had already tested it but there is a delay to close the tab when you click the mid mouse button on the side of the page.

Any news on this being improved?

Response to your response:
The delay I experience could well be 200 ms and be related to that "wait for the double click" function. I can understand that but for those of us who just want the MileWideBack functionality a single middle click is all we need.

You could maybe add an option to "not use double middle click" or something like that so we can get instant action, wich makes it feel much more fluent.

How long is the delay you experience?
There is some delay required to sense the difference between a single-, double-, or long-click.

Perhaps you can experiment with the "Double Click Delay" and "Long Click Time" on the EdgeWise Options / Settings panel...

Previous to the current version (3.0.3), another delay was caused by "scheduling" the actual Tab Close. This has been eliminated.

Tab closing has a delay (unlike MileWideBack).

The 2.03 version is perfect!
In general the addon saves a lot of attention by minimizing hand-eye coordination. Finally this provides the comfortable web surfing with pleasure.
I have one additional proposal for future:
Is it possible to relate to the left edge as two "halves" - upper and lower?
The Settings mechanisme allows different sets of actions.
So, if it is possible to assign different sets for upper and lower edge halves, user can get twice actions.
End differentiation between upper and lower halves can be done by event.clientY (taking Zoom in consideration)
