Privacy Policy — kavkasyan / TakeoutCSV2Maps
Effective date: July 4, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how kavkasyan ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use TakeoutCSV2Maps, our browser extension that imports Google Takeout CSV places into a saved Google Maps list.
We take privacy seriously. For this extension, the short version is: your CSV and import progress stay on your device. We do not run a backend that receives your places, lists, or account data.
This policy also applies to related support and listing pages at kavkasyan.com.
2. DefinitionsExtension — TakeoutCSV2Maps (Chrome / Firefox).
Company — kavkasyan.
Device — the computer or phone where you install the extension.
Personal Data — information that identifies you. For this extension, we generally do not collect Personal Data on our servers.
Service — the Extension and any related pages or support we provide.
You — anyone who installs or uses the Extension.
- What the extension does with your data
3.1 Stays on your device
CSV files — You choose a file from your computer. It is read locally in the extension UI. We do not upload your CSV to kavkasyan or any other server we operate.
Import queue & progress — Stored in your browser only (chrome.storage / equivalent). Closing the UI tab does not send this data to us.
Failed import log — If export runs, a small HTML file is saved to your Downloads folder via the browser’s download API. We do not receive a copy.
3.2 Google Maps (third party)
To save places, the extension opens google.com/maps in a tab you control and automates the Save dialog while you are signed in to Google. Anything you do there is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not access your Google password or receive data from Google on your behalf.
3.3 What we do not do
No analytics or tracking SDKs in the extension
No selling or renting of your data
No collection of your places, list names, or CSV contents on our servers
No ads inside the extension
- Information we collect
On our servers: We do not collect Personal Data through normal use of the Extension.
On your device: The Extension stores import state locally (queue, progress, counts). That data remains under your browser’s control until you clear extension storage or uninstall.
If you contact us (e.g. apps@kavkasyan.com): We receive whatever you put in your email. We use that only to respond and support you.
5. How we use information
To run the Extension on your device (local storage only)
To respond to support emails you send us
To comply with law if required
We do not use extension data for marketing, profiling, or advertising.
6. Retention
Local extension data — Kept until you stop/clear a run, use “new run,” uninstall the extension, or clear browser extension data.
Support emails — Kept only as long as needed to handle your request and ordinary business records.
- Transfer of data
The Extension does not transfer your CSV or import data to kavkasyan. If you email us, your message may be processed in the United States.
8. Disclosure
We may disclose information only to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or in a business transfer (support records only, not your local CSV). We do not sell Personal Data.
9. Security
Local data is protected by your browser and device security. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
10. Children’s privacy
The Extension is not directed at anyone under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.
11. Your rights
You may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of Personal Data we hold about you (mainly support email). Import data on your device can be deleted by clearing extension data or uninstalling.
California residents (CCPA): We do not sell Personal Data. We do not collect Personal Data through the Extension on our systems. For requests about data we may hold, contact apps@kavkasyan.com.
12. Links to other sites
The Extension opens Google Maps and may open locally generated HTML files. Third-party sites have their own policies.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version with an updated effective date.
