Tab Suspender, Memory Saver & Ad Blocker per SuperchargeBrowser

Speed up Firefox and save memory. SuperchargePerformance suspends inactive tabs to free up to 95% of their RAM, blocks ads and trackers to cut active tab memory by up to 50%, and optimizes page loading — all built on Firefox's latest APIs.

Firefox's built-in tab unloading only suspends tabs. SuperchargePerformance goes further: it reduces memory on your active tabs too, by blocking the ad scripts, trackers, and third-party code that consume the most resources. A modern, safe alternative to abandoned tab-suspender extensions.

🔒 ABOUT PERMISSIONS
Firefox requires the "Access your data for all websites" permission for tab suspension and network-level blocking. SuperchargePerformance uses these permissions only to optimize performance — we never track, collect, or transmit your browsing data. Zero telemetry. Every optimization runs locally on your device.

HOW IT WORKS

SuperchargePerformance optimizes Firefox at every level — from idle tabs consuming RAM in the background, to the ads and scripts slowing down the page you're reading right now.

Suspend Inactive Tabs
Automatically frees RAM by suspending tabs you're not using. A single tab uses 50–300 MB of memory; a suspended tab drops to under 10 MB. Audio-aware — tabs playing music or video are never touched. Adjustable timing: 15-minute, 5-minute, or custom intervals.

Block Ads, Trackers & Annoyances
Intercepts ads, trackers, analytics, and malicious sites at the network level, before they load. Prevents memory-heavy ad scripts from ever loading. Three levels from common ads to maximum protection including phishing sites. Updated 2026 blocklist with 100,000+ obsolete rules purged for accuracy and speed.

Reject Cookie Banners Automatically
Detects and declines cookie consent popups on 100+ different sites. No more clicking "Reject All" on every site. Removes overlays without breaking page scrolling or layout.

Stop Video Autoplay
Prevents videos from playing automatically in the background, saving CPU and bandwidth. Two modes: Allow Common (permits YouTube and conferencing tools) or Block All (stops everything including muted hover previews).

Control Third-Party Scripts
Manages external scripts that add page weight and slow loading. Three levels from blocking social widgets and comment sections to blocking all third-party scripts with critical exceptions for login and payments.

Preload Pages on Hover
Predicts your next click and starts loading the page before you click it. Uses Firefox's native link prefetching for faster page transitions. Same-site or all-pages modes.

Safe Mode
If an optimization breaks a page, Safe Mode detects the issue and shows a one-click recovery toast. Disables optimizations for that tab so you can keep browsing — no need to disable the extension or dig through settings.

Prioritize Visible Content
Loads on-screen content first and delays off-screen images, iframes, and scripts. Pages become interactive faster because resources you can actually see are loaded first.

Optimize Web Fonts
Blocks heavy custom web fonts and substitutes fast system fonts. Reduces download size and speeds up text rendering. Three levels from removing non-essential font variants to forcing a single optimized system font.

Predictive DNS Prefetching
Resolves domain names before you need them. Pre-connects to your most-visited sites so pages start loading instantly.

WHITELIST & SLEEPING-TAB PROTECTION

Need Figma, ChatGPT, or Google Docs to stay alive in the background? Whitelisted sites bypass all optimizations AND are protected from Firefox's own tab unloading — your important tabs won't lose state or reload when you switch back. One click to whitelist.

WHO IT'S FOR

• Low-RAM laptop and tablet users on 4GB/8GB devices — stop the lag and freezes that come from too many open tabs.
• Laptop users who need longer battery life — less background activity means less heat and more runtime unplugged.
• Anyone with 20+ tabs open — your browser wasn't built for that. This extension is.

PERFORMANCE DASHBOARD

Track your impact: total RAM saved, ads blocked, scripts controlled, time saved, and pages optimized — all calculated locally from your actual browsing activity.

PRIVACY & SECURITY

SuperchargePerformance never tracks, collects, or transmits your browsing data:
• Every optimization runs locally on your device
• No browsing history, search queries, or page content is collected
• No cloud servers, no accounts, no sign-up required
• Built on Firefox's latest security model
