SideReacts adds a live reaction feed next to the videos you watch on YouTube and Netflix.

When you open a supported video, a sidebar opens (or you can reopen it from the floating button) showing comments tied to that specific video or episode. Read what others think, post your own reactions, reply in threads, upvote or downvote, and keep watching without switching tabs.

How it works

SideReacts detects the current YouTube video ID or Netflix watch ID and loads the matching comment thread from sidereacts.com. Guests can browse comments; signing in lets you post, reply, vote, and receive notifications.

Privacy & data

SideReacts only runs on youtube.com and netflix.com (plus sidereacts.com for the API).

Required data (core functionality):

• Browsing activity - which video or episode you are watching (e.g. YouTube video ID, Netflix title ID) so comments load for the correct content
• Website content - page context needed to attach reactions to the right video and show the feed

Optional data (only if you sign in or use extra features):

• Authentication information - Google sign-in to create your account
• Personally identifying information - your email is stored on our servers for account management only; it is never shown publicly
• Search terms - when you search for GIFs in the composer
• Technical and interaction data - basic usage and error data to keep the extension reliable

Your public profile is an anonymous username and emoji avatar, not your real name.

Permissions explained

• storage - save your sign-in session, theme, and panel preferences locally
• identity - Google sign-in
• tabs - communicate between the sidebar and the active YouTube/Netflix tab
• scripting - inject the panel and floating button on supported sites
• Host access (YouTube, Netflix, sidereacts.com) - display the UI and load or send comments through the SideReacts API
