Universal Keyword Mute — Browse the Web Without Unwanted Topics

The internet doesn’t always let you control what you see. Social platforms may offer basic mute or block features, but they rarely extend beyond their own apps—and they certainly don’t work across the entire web.

Universal Keyword Mute solves that problem by giving you a single, cross-site control panel for filtering unwanted words and phrases anywhere you browse.

🔧 What it does

You create a personalized list of keywords or phrases you never want to encounter—such as “spoiler,” “Valentine’s Day,” “Lakers,” “election,” or “crypto.” Once saved, the extension automatically scans web pages in real time and detects matching content across:

Social media posts and replies
News headlines and article previews
Blog posts and forums
Comments sections
Search results

When a match is found, the content is either blurred, collapsed, or fully hidden, depending on your settings.

⚙️ Key Features
Universal filtering across websites (not limited to a single platform)
Custom keyword & phrase list with unlimited entries
Multiple filtering modes
Blur content
Collapse posts entirely
Replace with a warning label
Case-insensitive & partial match detection
Quick toggle ON/OFF for temporary browsing flexibility
Import/export lists to back up or transfer your settings
🧠 Smart & Flexible

The extension is designed to work dynamically as pages load and update. Whether you're scrolling endlessly on social media or reading long articles, it continues filtering content in real time without needing page refreshes.

🔒 Privacy-focused design

Your keyword list stays stored locally in your browser. No tracking, no uploading, and no external servers. What you choose to filter is completely private to you.

🌐 Why it matters

People use the web for very different reasons—and sometimes certain topics are just not relevant, helpful, or emotionally welcome in a given moment. Whether you're avoiding spoilers, staying focused during exams, or just curating a calmer browsing experience, this tool gives you control over your information environment.
