Google Cal All Day Highlight per Derek Larson

To add a highlight on an entire day for an all-day event, simply add a exclamation point to the start of the event name, ensure it's checked as "All day" and thats it, you'll see this adds a washed out color to the entire day helping you keep track of when you may actually be busy... all day.
