CloudLyrics Privacy Policy — Last updated May 2026

DATA WE COLLECT
CloudLyrics collects one type of anonymous data: when you install or update the extension, a single anonymous event is sent to Google Analytics 4. This
contains no personal information, no user identifier, and no browsing data. It is used solely to count active users.

We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data. We do not track your listening history, browsing behaviour, or any identifying information.

NETWORK REQUESTS
The extension makes requests to the following services:
- lrclib.net — fetch synced lyrics
- api.lyrics.ovh — fallback lyrics
- api-v2.soundcloud.com — fetch timed comments (uses your SoundCloud session)
- ws.audioscrobbler.com (Last.fm) — artist bio and genre info
- en.wikipedia.org — artist and song summaries
- api.mymemory.translated.net — translate a lyric on request (T key); only the lyric text is sent
- cloudlyrics-worker.thekidslush.workers.dev — license key validation and YouTube video lookup
- www.google-analytics.com — anonymous install/update event

Requests to lyrics and artist info services contain only the track title and artist name from the SoundCloud player. No personal data is transmitted.

DATA STORED LOCALLY
- Style preferences stored in browser storage, never transmitted
- Lyrics cached locally for up to 7 days for faster loading, never transmitted
- Comments trial count stored locally to enforce the free trial limit

PAYMENTS
If you purchase premium access, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. CloudLyrics never sees your payment details.
