✔️ Making hundreds of improvements (small and large) to streamline, simplify, and enhance Gmail’s design and functionality. No part of Gmail is left untouched. Messages are easier to scan, read, and compose. Once you install, compare Gmail before and after using Alt+S (⌥S on Mac).

✔️ Adding back the missing categories. Google Inbox had three other categories (Finances, Purchases, and Travel) that still work but Gmail doesn't link to. Simplify adds links to these in the nav with the other Categories.
✔️ Providing over 40 options with great defaults so you can fine tune Simplify just the way you like. Options include changing the interface font, hiding unread counts, making the interface even more minimal, and more.

Simplify was made by Michael Leggett (leggett.org), Gmail's lead designer from 2008 to 2012 and the co-founder of Google Inbox. With the unfortunate demise of Google Inbox, Leggett wanted bring the simplified email experience to Gmail. Thus, Simplify Gmail was born on April 2, 2019.

IMPROVEMENTS
- Inbox Zero background now applies to ALL non-image themes (it used to only apply to the default and dark theme)
- Make the app bar toggle easier to see and click on when the app bar is hidden
- Only show the notification about the new app bar toggle if the app bar is enabled
- Re-wrote theme detection to take advantage of changes in Material You design (I can now detect list bg from conversation view)
FIXES
- Adjust the placement of the delete all banner in trash and spam for Gmail’s new design when search chips are hidden with Simplify (it was getting placed behind the email list so you couldn’t access it)
- Make inbox tabs dark in inbox zero for darkTheme
