Working in FF 50.1.0.

An incompatibility with DrWeb 4 csillagra értékelve az 5-ből

If DrWeb is installed on the machine and HideTab is installed in FF then an attempt to overwrite a file on a network share will fail.

Do not use, this is adware/affiliate spam. After Hiding the tab it redirects to a cascade of several suspicious websites, maybe dangerous

Good addon. Works as described! Would it be possible to add options to group the context menu entries into one sub-menu? Or to remove those options from the web page context menu all together? It would be nice to also group all the option together in the tabs context menu (when right clicking on tabs).

Not Working in FF23 1 csillagra értékelve az 5-ből

This add-on can't be use anymore in firefox 23.0.1.
The problem I encounter is that 1) when i try to hide the current active tab it focuses on other tab of the window and don't hide the tab I choose to hide. 2) When it do hide a tab , once you click the other tabs it unhides the hidden tabs.
Please fix this.

Really good extension, the only one of its kind if I'm not wrong. However I found one problem and have a suggestion:

- Problem: Using FF 24.0a1 32-bit for windows, I've found that when there's tabs overflow in the tab bar (tabs scroll buttons), and I hide one of the pinned tabs, the tab scroll area (tab browser) don't reclaim the spare space the pinned hidden tab left behind.

- Suggestion: I see the extension uses a [style="diplay: none;"] attribute on hidden tabs DOM nodes, and that's the only way to select them in CSS; also the hidding method used makes CSS unable to apply certain rules to them.
I suggest you to add an optional working mode that makes hidden tabs manageable through CSS, I suggest the hidding method may be "visibility: collapse;", at least that's what I've succesfully used here for my purposes; I also suggest to add an attribute for that mode to allow hidden tabs selection in a node high in the DOM tree, may be"#main-window[hiddentab]" or "#main-window[hiddentab="true"]" or something similar, and perhaps also another similar one for each of the hidden tabs nodes themselves, but I think the former would be clearly more useful.

Thanks in advance. Gracias.

As mentioned by nazmul ahmed noyon if you hide all tabs you are taken to ads site. However this can be changed in the extensions settings. Other than that, the app is truly good.

Potentially dangerous addons. Warning don't install it. after intalling when you click all open tabs are vanished. It redirect to malicious site

The addon itself is pretty good and does what it's supposed to. However, in the spirit of being more stealthy which is the main point, I'd suggest an option to modify the menus, the text they display and also remove the icons. That's all.

Works 100% in v11.0 5 csillagra értékelve az 5-ből

FIVE STARS! I first met this addon in an infantile version many moons ago when all it really did was hide a single tab, one at a time and that was pretty much it. Kudos to the developer (who goes by the name of diegoratt) for diving head first into this addon and making it compatible with FF 11.0.

I noticed that another FF 11.0 user wrote a review about this addon not working, I can only guess that s/he has another addon that is conflicting with this one. As I said above, this addon is working 100% for me under FF v11.0.

I highly recommend this addon and have rated it five stars after deliberate stress-testing of all functionality.

Does not work in 11.0 2 csillagra értékelve az 5-ből

This extension seems to be perfect for me: I can hide somgle tabs or all tabs (by hotkey or by panic-button).
But in Firefox 11 nothing is working (not even hiding a single tab using the context menu).
Please make it compatible with Firefox 11.

Question before I install. I'll just give you a five in order to post this. 5 csillagra értékelve az 5-ből

Before I install this I want to know something: So basically when my mom is about to walk in while I'm reading what's new on IGN when I am supposed to be doing school work I can use the panic button to hide all of the tabs except the school work tab so when she walks in she'll think I'm doing school work without encountering any of the bugs mentioned right?

Worked great for FF3.6.13 but not so well on FF 4. It will hide all tabs but will not hide individual tabs when clicking on context menu, also no hide option appearing on tab context menu - too bad this was a great add-on.

I honestly don't mind the bug that other people below have commented on and I have used this addon for a while where it has served its purpose reliably, however I have one note on a disagreement with a theme I use in ff4 (mx3), where the addon's functionality is entirely nullified. Any suggestions for this problem?

What about FF4? 3 csillagra értékelve az 5-ből

The rating would be higher if there wasn't that nasty bug when closing the tabs while others are hidden. Will this add-on be available for FF4 soon?

Problems when close tab 4 csillagra értékelve az 5-ből

A like this addon and I use it every days.
But I have problems when close one tab with other hided, like described in another reviews.
If I have one tab hided when I close another tab it doesn't closed, the tab is closed, but the content of page is displayed until I click in one open tab. If the tab closed have sound (youtube, flash..) I continue listening the sound.

To reproduce:
- Hide one tab.
- Open one page with sound
- Close the page during play

Awesome add-on! For me it's perfect, as all I needed was a way to hide a tab that is simply playing a radio feed, so it doesn't get in the way while I work with other tabs.

However, I do understand why other people would want audio from a tab to essentially go mute when quickly hidden.

I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement a Sound On/Sound Off option, but it would be the ideal way to go to please both users like myself and those who wish to mute any sound.

The only thing I have a problem with is just a minor nit-pick. Unlike other Firefox menu items whose shortcuts I've changed or removed, after I removed the shortcut for Hide Tab, the text in the menus still says "Hide Tab(CTRL+Q)", rather than just "Hide Tab".

Good plugin, but hidden tabs are exposed after Firefox restart 4 csillagra értékelve az 5-ből

Overall it's a great plugin and serves its purpose very well.

It's easy to hide and unhide the tabs. You can do this in the following ways:

1. Right-click on a tab and select "Hide tab", OR
2. Press Ctrl+Q to hide the current tab, OR
3. In the status bar, on the bottom right side, click on the HideTab icon to bring up the full list of tabs, and select the tab(s) you wish to hide/unhide.

Only one problem though. If I close Firefox and restart it, the hidden tabs are exposed. It would be good if the developers can add intelligence to save the hidden tabs and keep them hidden after restart.
