🐙 Zaptopus lets you customize WhatsApp Web: change the colors, tidy up the layout, hide your conversations from people nearby and reply faster. It is free, needs no account, and everything runs inside your own browser.

🚀 How to start: open WhatsApp Web, click the octopus icon in the toolbar and choose a look. Changes appear instantly, without reloading the page.

🎨 THEMES AND WALLPAPERS
• Several ready-made dark and light color themes, plus animated seasonal themes for Halloween, Christmas, Chinese New Year and St. Patrick's Day
• A color editor for the sidebar, bubbles, accent color, typing bar and more
• Chat background: the classic pattern, a solid color, a gradient or your own picture
• Save your theme to a file and import it again later

🧩 CLEANER LAYOUT
• Modern look with rounded panels and softer bubbles
• Filters, Archived and New chat move to the slim icon bar on the left
• Hide the contact list with one click (or Ctrl+Shift+H) to focus on one conversation
• Adjust the list width and text size, or center the conversation in one column
• Hides the "download the desktop app" banners

🛡 PRIVACY MODE
• Blurs the whole screen (chats, panels, names, photos) except the icon bar, so nobody can read over your shoulder
• Turn it on from the left bar, the toolbar icon or Ctrl+Shift+P (you can change the keys)
• Choose the blur strength, from a soft haze to fully hidden
• Set a PIN lock so nothing is revealed until you unlock it
• Optional: it turns on by itself when you step away
• While it is on, clicks, typing, scrolling and tooltips are blocked

⚡ QUICK REPLIES
• Type "/" in the text box to pick one of your saved replies
• Use {name} to insert the contact's first name automatically
• The reply is only filled in. You always press Enter yourself

🌍 TRANSLATION (BETA)
• Hover a message and click the translate button to read it in your language
• Uses the translator built into Google Chrome (138 or newer), Microsoft Edge, Brave and Opera, so the text never leaves your computer
• Coming soon to other browsers

🔔 NOTIFICATIONS
• A small card appears when someone writes to you while you are in another tab, or a system notification if the browser is in the background
• Several cards stack in order and stay on screen for about 9 seconds
• Optional sound, optional preview and an unread counter on the toolbar icon
• In Privacy Mode, notifications never show the sender or the text

ℹ GOOD TO KNOW
• WhatsApp itself decides which buttons to show in each browser. In some browsers (such as Brave) it doesn't offer Calls, Channels or Meta AI, so they don't appear in the left bar. This isn't caused by Zaptopus.
• Translation uses the translator built into the browser. In Brave and Opera you pick the message's language once; browsers without a built-in translator (such as Firefox) don't show the 文A button yet.

🔒 YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU
No servers, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. Settings are saved in your browser. Nothing you read or write is stored or sent anywhere, no internal code of the site is used, and nothing is ever sent on your behalf.
