Stylus Blue

Really? A watermark on a persona?

Earth from space

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Heeeey I made this over a year ago using an add-on to internally host the image and a Stylish CSS sheet to apply the image :o And I mean the exact same image in the exact same spot. What a coincidence! Still looks nice

Location Bar Enhancer

No longer in development Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Used to be an excellent add-on, but has had a serious CPU usage issue since months ago. I personally tracked the exact lines of code that caused the issue and told the developer, yet nothing was done. No programming activity (github commits) since 9 months ago and the dev hasn't been heard of 3 in months. I don't think this is in development anymore.

AutoAuth

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Doesn't seem to work anymore :(

Flashblock

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Not working in Palemoon 24.2.2 x86 Win7 :( Specifically, the Flashblock logo shows up where a Flash element would be, but it's not clickable or anything.

"Cick to play per element" is broken too and Firefox's own click-to-play feature is rubbish, so there doesn't seem to be anything anymore to make Flash opt-in per element

SearchPreview

Would be great if it supported Startpage/Ixquick too

Video WithOut Flash

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Oh wait, I just noticed options about FLV and media player plugins :D You sir, are more awesome than I first noticed :D

Any chance you could add a module for jwplayer please? ^^ http://www.watchcartoononline.com/gundam-seed-episode-1-english-dubbed (tab 2), the stream URL is in the flashvars HTML property

Video WithOut Flash

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Edit: ignore this, should've looked more closely :P

Excellent add-on, seems to work well.

Just too bad a lot of web players use FLV, meaning the HTML5 player doesn't work with them. However, using <embed src=...> and with a media player like VLC and its browser plugin installed, you can still get rid of most of the FLV Flash players since any decent media player browser plugin can play FLV. How do you feel about adding support for that to your addon? Or maybe a fork project?

Edit: if it help convince you, I just used Firebug to get the URL of a video out of the Flash player on http://www.watchcartoononline.com/gundam-seed-episode-1-english-dubbed (tab 2), replaced it by <embed> and it just worked with the VLC plugin... It does create a dependency on a media player plugin, but anything is better than Flash

KillSpinners

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

How exactly is this even a good idea? You're literally saying "when any webpage takes longer than this random number of seconds to load, something must be wrong and the solution is to interrupt the loading".
1) if you're targeting bulky Flash ads, it could very well be that the Flash is only a widget that's loaded instantly and then loads a stream from a server in its own process, avoiding the browser's meddling (like in the case of Flash video viewers).
2) networks and connections can be slow sometimes, making the page loading exceed the arbitrary number of seconds.
3) page loading time only (vaguely) indicates the size of the content, not whether or not that content is essential or unneeded

From the looks of it, literally the only purpose is to get rid of tabs that keep spinning for longer than x seconds, regardless of the cause, tab's contents, etc. How is that useful?

Lightbeam for Firefox

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I like being able to block domains and seeing their relations, but the fancy graphics are entirely unnecessary and are a massive strain even on a modern system. Removing Lightbeam and replacing the blocking functionality with RequestPolicy is a million times more efficient and performant. RAM usage went down a lot.

YouTube HTML5 Player

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Youtube has its own setting to use HTML5 video instead of the Flash player, so what's the point of this add-on?

Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Could you update the install.rdf to correctly display this add-on's own compatibility please? ^^ It's still set to max=ff14

CacheViewer Continued

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Ander: the description specifically says "the magnifying glass icon in the add-on bar". Have you even bothered to look at the add-on bar aka the new status bar?

The way this works seems obvious enough when you open it. It lists all files in cache with some technical data like which cache each file is in. Clicking an image shows a preview in the image pane at the top.

Honestly, what's with all the bad ratings? User error is not something to blame the add-on for.

Auto-Sort Bookmarks

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very nice update, working well as usual. :)Two things though: install.rdf still says it only supports up to FF 20 and the toolbar icon keeps restoring itself instead of staying where I put it (in the toolbar icon menu, since I have no need for it). Would be great if you could fix that. :)

FoxyProxy Standard

Excellent Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very good addon. No performance impact, tiny resource usage. Some packet-sniffing showed me that every attempt to load a certain URL was sent through the proxy configured for it and not a single packet went directly to the target IP.
Very good toolbar button implementation too, both the new type widget and the old variant. It would just be nice if the Tools menu were made the "proper" way. If that was done to allow the color coding, you can still apply that to a regular menu if you embed some CSS into the overlay. Otherwise I don't see why the Tools menu is made so strangely.

Bluhell Firewall

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Eram746: Fanboy's list has recently been merged with Easylist and Easylist is what Fanboy now works on, so Fanboy's list is obsolete. At least that's what the blog says.

Meepmeep: use Adblock Plus (without filter lists) and its Element Hiding Helper to do that.

The combination of this add-on to block general ads with a filterless Adblock Plus (only your own custom rules) to remove anything that's left on the websites you most often go to is the most effective and resource-friendly way to go about it. Glad I found this one because ABP's filters with their many thousands of entries were becoming a serious strain on my resources and making everything slow. Now it's just this one with some custom rules for my own websites in ABP. Works fantastically.

Menu Icons Plus

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Still works in FF22! Please update the install.rdf? :)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.6).

Menu Editor

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Could you please update the install.rdf to state that Menu Editor works with Firefox >= 22, since that's the case?

Is It Compatible?

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Could you please update the install.rdf to say it works up to FF >=22? It works just fine, but the displayed info is "wrong".

Tab History Redux

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Great concept, but the bug everyone is talking about makes it unusable. A fork or update to fix that would be much appreciated.

For the record: in my case, if I exit Firefox with the left-most tab active, its URL will be copied to all other "restored" tabs when I re-open FF. Sometimes ctrl-z on the URL bar gives me the correct URL back, but not always.

Took me MONTHS to figure out this was the addon doing that.

Edit: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/back-to-owner-tab seems to be a good replacement so far.
