DPSystem WebForms fills in a web form with data read from an identity document — a passport, identity card, driving licence or vehicle registration certificate — at a reception desk: a hotel, a clinic, a car rental, an office.

The extension reads no documents itself and contacts no server. It receives data that has already been read from the DPSystem desktop application running on the same computer, over Native Messaging: a local channel between the browser and that one application. Nothing leaves the computer.

How it is used

1. The operator scans the document with a reader connected to the computer.
2. DPSystem reads it and hands the result to its native messaging host.
3. This extension fills the form open in the browser, following a mapping the operator defined once for that form.

Mappings — schemes — are made on the extension's own options page: point at a field, say which piece of the document belongs in it, save. Forms that take several steps are supported, including clicking, waiting for a dialog, filling and scrolling, and the steps can be recorded by performing them once.

Requirements

The DPSystem desktop software, including the native messaging host that ships with it, has to be installed on the same computer. Without it this extension has nothing to receive and does nothing at all. It is not a general-purpose form filler and it stores no data of its own about you.
