Great Add-on. Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
Great add-on and a must have - I just wish everyone would use a spell checker!
Firefox keeps changing the default language, for example: English (UK) back to English (US). As explained previously, this is a Firefox and Thunderbird bug. This bug has been around for years - planet America strikes again I'm afraid!
A Lot Better Than Firefox Groups! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
Great add-on and one of my favourites. Once you get passed the learning curve, which is easy, you'll find Super Start indispensable. It's very easy to organise your bookmarks/URLs and there are lots of options to customise the Super Start page, such as; changing the background image or colour. Right click on a web page to add it to the Super Start page. To create a group just drag a page on to another. From there edit the group by clicking on the icon and give it a name, you can do this for each individual page, as well. It's as simple as that. There's a function to add notes on the right, as well. I'll leave you to figure out the rest.
What I like about Super Start over Firefox Groups is:
1. It's easier to get to, just one click on the '+' icon on the tab bar and Super Start opens up or set it as your home page.
2. No problems whatsoever with the layout of the Super Start page when you resize or scale Firefox, unlike Tab Group. Firefox doesn't 'remember' your Tab Group layout when you resize a web page - it completely destroys it! There's absolutely no way to get it back either, as the functionality of Tab Group is very, very basic. Don't even bother to re-organise the Tab Group page as it's a complete waste of time. This annoying 'feature' has been around a long time and doesn't look like it will be 'fixed' anytime soon.
Highly recommended, one of the best add-ons.
Great Add-on That Actually Works! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
This new mail Add-on actually works and is the only one that does 100% of the time, and that includes Thunderbird's own notifications have never worked properly. It would be an even better add-on if it had pop-up and sound options, here's hoping.
Wished It Worked 100% Of The Time Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles
Anyone who's ever used Thunderbird knows about the problems with mail notifications not working properly, which is a bug that has been around for donkey's years and looks like it will never be fixed. I've tried all the other "fixes" including altering the condstore and mail.imap.use_status_for_biff settings using the config editor, but they never worked either.
When I came across this little add-on my hopes were raised, but sadly I spent ages trying to get it to work properly with Thunderbird 31.5.0, but I couldn't. It's very sporadic and not much better than Thunderbird's own effort. The test settings seem to work, but that's about it. It also looks like this add-on is not the developers highest priority either; I don't expect things to improve in the future so I will probably have to uninstall it, pity.
There are a couple of other new mail notification add-ons but the best one I've found is called: "New Mail Attention" and that seems to work perfectly. It's a bit basic and doesn't have any sound or pop-up options, it just flashes and highlights the Thunderbird taskbar shortcut, but at least it does work 100% of the time. The obvious question is after all these years, is why doesn't Thunderbird's own mail notifications work properly; it's a very important and basic function for any mail program? Maybe the Thunderbird developers should have a chat with Giovanni Coriasco.
Not Working Properly And No help File. Noté 2 sur 5 étoiles
I've tried this add-on a few times because I wanted the: "Tab Stacking like Opera" feature. Opera's tab stacking feature is a brilliant idea and should be built-in to Firefox by default. Just drag and drop tabs on to each other to create a stack: then collapse or restore the stack; group like tabs; bookmark the tab links or delete the tabs. It's a simple and intuitive solution to tabitis! Sadly, this feature simply does not work. I've look at the "Help and FAQs" on GitHub, but, as usual, there's no proper help file. I found an entry called: 'Tab Stacking options', great, I thought! I looked at the page and it just has coding entries like this: pref("extensions.tabutils.autoStack", false); ... how the hell does that help your average end-user, really? If you are not aware these options are turned on and off in Firefox's about:config settings page; obviously, the programer thinks all end-users know about this feature and how to use it safely. The real reason there is no proper help file is that the programmer was just too lazy to write one up. I've worked with loads of them; just code, code, code - "I'll write one up later". They never do, or, usually it's a very poor after thought and no help whatsoever. There are other options that don't work as well, such as, Shift+Tab. Back to trusty old Tab Mix Plus I'm afraid, maybe one day ... uninstalled.
Very Good. Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
I really like this add-on and it gives you a bit more screen space. Firefox Tab Groups is a pain and it's very basic. For instance, you can group all your tabs the way you like them, then, if you resize Firefox and go back into Tab Groups all your groups have move and they're completely messed up - why? Why can't Firefox organize the groups automatically or remember the positions? This add-on is a much better solution, it's miles better, I highly recommend it. Looking forward to the future updates, thanks for the effort.Cette critique est pour une version précédente du module (0.1.8.1-signed).
Very Good - But Problems With The Zoom Function. Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles
Good Add-on but I had problems when I first installed it with the 'Zoom ratio' feature. I altered the settings and things went a bit haywire when I did a right click (zoom) on the preview window; it wouldn't draw the zoomed window properly? I have Tab Mix Plus installed and All-in-One Sidebar, as well, not sure if there's a conflict? I've rebooted and Tab Scope seems to behaving itself and everything is hunky dory at the moment.Cette critique est pour une version précédente du module (1.5.1-signed.1-signed).
Great Add-on, One Of The Best! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
I've been using 'Download Status Bar' for years and it has just got better and more refined since I first started using it. It gives you a lot more information and options when downloading files - it's one of my all time favourites.Cette critique est pour une version précédente du module (10.1.0.1-signed).
Great Add-on, One Of The Best! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
I've been using 'All-in-One Sidebar' for a while now and find it indispensable, it's very easy to use and it saves me time as everything you need is in one place. It's one of the best add-ons I've ever used and I've been using Firefox for donkey's years - it's one of my all time favourites.Cette critique est pour une version précédente du module (0.7.23.1-signed). In An Word - Excellent! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
I've been using this for a while now and I must say it's brilliant, so good that it should be built in to Firefox by default! Once installed and you get to grips with it, you will use it all the time. It's highly customisable with too many options to mention here. You can put the Sidebar either on the left (default) or on the right, which where I prefer it to be. I also use the Sidebar Switch Toggle option, this allows you to either open or close the Sidebar by clicking on a thin vertical blue bar. Just put your mouse pointer to the far right (or left) of the screen and the blue vertically bar will appear, click on it, and the Sidebar opens up, simple. If you prefer, you can have the Sidebar appear and disappear automatically using the mouse pointer. There are shortcut icons at the top, just click on one to open up an option, such as: Bookmarks, Get Add-ons, Extensions, Appearance, Downloads, it's all there and more. I can't live without it now it's just so handy! It's one of the best Add-ons I've used in years, it's up there with the best, it's that good. I rarely give five stars but this add-on deserves it, well done. One feature I would love to see in future updates, is a 'Notes' option. Click on or highlight some text and add it to a note along with the web address in the Sidebar for future reference. It would be great to be able to save the text to an external text file, and the option to save to folders, and, with plenty of sort options - now that really would be nice!Cette critique est pour une version précédente du module (0.7.21.1-signed).
Good Add-on Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles
I've just started using this add-on and on first impressions it looks quite good. One thing I was looking for though were YouTube play controls, especially the ability to loop/repeat a section of the video; an A > B control. There's an extension in Opera called 'ExtendTube' which has this ability and, for me, I found it invaluable, maybe one for the future?
Thanks Maxime RF, life's never that easy is it. I hate Flash and hope HTML5 banishes it to the annals of history. I don't know why Abode don't include play controls by default anyway, after all, it's a video player!
I Wish It Worked Properly. *** UPDATE: Bugs Still Not Fixed *** Noté 2 sur 5 étoiles
Takes over the sidebar and I can't open my bookmarks.
This problem has still not been fixed as of 25/09/2014. Is this project still active, looks like it's not, it's still on version 0.5.0.2 and there's no sign of version 2 whatsoever? Can someone from the development team update the page and keep us informed as to what is happening with this project please, thank you.

I don't know what the future holds for Thunderbird but this is an excellent add-on which fixes the annoying Draft auto-save bug, which has been around for years!Cette critique est pour une version précédente du module (0.2.1).

Yet Another Buggy Release!
Lightning is okay when it works but it's always been very buggy. The main problem is the most basic one - connecting and syncing with Google calender? Another major problem is that it doesn't notify you when it can't connect and sync, which can result in you missing appointments, arrgh! Never, ever, rely on Lightning as your main calendar; always check your phone or log-on to Google, which kind of negates this app really. I have just installed version 17 of Thunderbird and of course, true to form, Lightning has stopped working (again). Thunderbird is having problems connecting as well? I only got Lightning working by installing the 'Provider for Google Calendar' add-on which someone mentioned. I don't know why Lightning needs this add-on to work but for some reason it fixed the problem this time around; I've never had to use that add-on before, I just waited until Mozilla eventually fixed it. Does anyone at Mozilla actually use their own apps? I can't believe they release buggy applications like these, its getting really annoying. I'm thinking of looking elsewhere for a calendar and email client because of the constant bugs which should be removed before any release.
REPLY TO: Philipp Kewisch (Developer)
So, judging from your reply it's Mozilla that's at fault. If there's an upgrade, Mozilla don't inform the developers and the add-ons don't get updated in time - what a system! And as long as that system is in place it will continue to happen, resulting in more frustration for the end user. Users aren't interested in the politics of it all they just want software that works and Thunderbird - and consequently Lightning - is simple not reliable enough for everyday use. Years ago I used Outlook and had no problems, it just worked, but the cost was prohibitive. So being a long time Firefox user I thought I would change to Thunderbird and at first I was very pleased but then I came across bugs which never get fixed and are ignored. For instance, highlight your Inbox and your faced with a blank message pane, it doesn't show your first email which I thought would be logical. You have to click on an email for it to show up in the message pane so you can read it. Is that supposed to happen? It's been like that for years! The new Menu Button which is now shown by default, has disappeared? I've installed Windows Live Mail and have been using it for the last couple of days. The mail client is slick, it works perfectly and looks like just like Outlook. Also, if there are any connection problems with mail or calendar you can click on the status bar and an info box pops up with the all the details. You're not left looking at an very small triangle which can be easily missed and gives you next to no information. It's not perfect, because although you can connect to your Google calendar it's read only. Hopefully this will change in the future but for now I'll just login if I need to change anything, I'll also look around for any another options because I've had it with Thunderbird.
Very Buggy Noté 2 sur 5 étoiles
I liked the idea of this add-on and found it useful and was using it for a while. Unfortunately, it's very buggy and has crashed Firefox.
Trying to organise your tabs by dragging and dropping is a nightmare. You drag a tab drop it somewhere and... nothing? It just hangs and you're left scratching you head, so you try again... again, nothing. You then have to reboot Firefox, open the Tree Style Tab sidebar again, and see if anything has happened - it's a very hit-and-miss affair. Pity, because it a good add-on if it worked. Trying to start a new group is even worst, a lot of messing about. And, don't even ask about changing the ordering of tabs, trying to switch a sub-tab so it becomes the main group tab is impossible.
I've uninstalled it and now just use the Firefox group functionality.
I'll have another look in the future, maybe it will get fixed.
A great idea but let down by poor implementation. Noté 2 sur 5 étoiles
Year View is unbelievably slow and has always has been for some reason? When you click on the Year View tab it will take forever to load up all your calendar entries resulting in you unable to use Thunderbird until it completes. You sit there being mesmerised by the little spinning wheel! Why this happens is a mystery which 'fabrix' has never been able to fix.
The logical option is to disable the loading up of calendar entries and just use it as a quick way to look up future dates. It's nice to have a year view; but the UI is so crowded when it loads up entries it's not really much use anyway. Having an option to disable some or all of your calendar entries would be a great addition. As it is, it's unusable and I've had to disable it.
I will try and use it again in the future and see if it's fixed or a disable calendar entries option has been implemented, because, as I said, it's a good idea, and I appreciate the effort, but I won't hold my breath.
Fabrix, if you have no time to develop this any more can't you release a version that doesn't load up the calendar entries so you will just have a nice clean year view?
Buggy and loses data! Noté 2 sur 5 étoiles
I'm using Lightning 1.0 beta5 which is very buggy and so was the previous version. Lightning locks your calendars randomly which results in you losing your data, you have to remember to copy your data to the clipboard just in case this happens! When it does you have to restart Thunderbird and then right click on the locked calendar to unlock it. Pop-up reminders won't dismiss properly and stay on the screen when you change the reminder time and save the event for later. It needs a lot of work to make it stable, good idea though.
Just happened again! Got the dreaded Lightning error box: "An error occurred when writing to the calendar Lightning!" > Details... Error code: MODIFICATION_FAILED, Description: <empty>.
Lost my data again! Checked the website and this bug, or similar bugs, have been around for years - still not fixed?!?
SAVING YOUR TABS (SESSION) Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
FYI: If you want to save your tabs (session) for the next time you start FF install the Session Manager Add-on which will manage ALL your sessions. Session Manager is fully compatible with TMP, once installed TMP will automatically detect Session Manager and disable it's own inbuilt manager. Session Manager has lots of session options, such as: 'Save backup on browser exit or restart'; 'save as' and a history session list, plus lots more too numerous to mention. Put an icon on your Add-on bar or Menu bar then you have quick access to a session history, just load whatever session you want.Cette critique est pour une version précédente du module (0.3.8.5.1-signed). I really like the functionality of this Add-on, very handy, but looks like it's not getting updated for FF4, shame.
Is this Add-on dead in the water?
