FireGestures

Not bad, but not Opera. Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

I installed this add-on mostly because I got used to Opera's gestures. It is not intrusive and well designed.

Don't expect, if you're used to Opera's, to perform gestures even on embedded plugins such as flash.

Also, the gestures themselves are subtly different from the ones you'll be used to. They are justifiably better in some ways, so I do not have a strong feeling about it.

Finally, Opera's learning guides are magnificent, but this add-on's alternative, an out-of-the-way tooltip at the bottom, is nearly as good (it shows you the action you'd perform by releasing the mouse, but not those you'd perform by going left, right, etc. from where you are).

Advice: remove that colorful line. It maybe could be discrete and pretty, if it had transparency and antialiasing and was a smooth curve, but mostly it is just ugly and gets in the way.

Feedly - Beyond Google Reader

Best alternative. Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

Feedly is the best product out there if we ignore Google Reader.

The fact that it works through a browser add-on is strange and makes updates quite annoying. The addition of a plugin button is irritating. We're already going to have Feedly as an app tab, if that's what we want.

However, Google Reader did suffer from heavy memory leaks (mostly related to the size of all those +1 buttons) which Feedly does not have. Kudos to them for that!

Mozilla Labs: Prospector - LessChrome HD

Good but Transparency Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

This is an awesome project! It shows the navigation bar only when I need it!

I particularly enjoy the very modern use of ES.next features in the source code.

However, a mistake that was done in version 3 is to use transparency and a drop shadow, which both look ugly (especially on mac computers, I suspect.) I downgraded to version 2 for now, but I really hope you change this back. Or at least make it optional, and easily overriden in about:config.

(Excerpt from the release notes of version 3: "shadow the navigation controls and make them slightly transparent.")
