Please update! Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles
Would really like to use this again with current Firefox versions. The download panel is pathetic in comparison.
Historically sweet add-on appeared to butcher my session this time :( Noté 2 sur 5 étoiles
Generally I've been using this extension for years and it's been great. I just installed it again and it appeared to butcher my session history (tabs). Not happy.Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (22.214.171.124-signed). Cet utilisateur a 3 revues précédentes sur ce module.
Thanks for the effort Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
I'm happysad to say that it does not look like I'll be using HCTP for the foreseeable future because the Australis update (Aurora channel) combined with the Classic Theme Restorer add-on appears to allow me to set up my 'fox in my unique way. FWIW that's three 'toolbars' with this content (from left to right):
- Sage/Pocket-dropmenu/Add to delicious buttons,
- three flexible spaces,
- separated back/forward
- old school menu (in effect centred in the top bar)
- separated reload/stop buttons
- three flexible spaces
- minimize/restore/close buttons (unsure why they have reappeared there without HCTP help)
- HTTPS button-dropmenu
- Location box
- Undo closed tabs button-dropmenu
- Tab groups button-dropmenu
- search box
- new 'light' download panel button (hate it but waiting for an update to Download Manager Tweak)
- Social paper-plane button
- Ghostery button
- Opened tabs drop menu
- three pinned tabs
- the scroll tabs left button
- scroll tabs right button
Then I have a status bar at the bottom where it's always been and should always be :)
- Stylish button-dropmenu
- NoScript button
- AdBlock Plus button-dropmenu
- Progress meter
- status text
- Create TinyURL button
- Colorpicker button-dropmenu
- Firebug button-dropmenu
All of the buttons, be they on XP at home, of Win 7 at work, are styled with a raised effect that clearly makes them stand out as opposed to the 'flat' trend that Australis is obsessed with. That's thanks another great add-on: Classic Toolbar Buttons, by the same author.
About the only thing I'm not happy with, apart from the less-than-useful stock Download 'panel' is the lack of a drop-down option on the separated Back button. Not sure why this doesn't work when you hold on to it.
Thanks immeasurably for your add-on efforts Darth. I'm sure it's possible that I'll need to come back to HTCP to get my fox exactly the way I like it in the future. I applaud your efforts hugely. The people who wanted to create more screen space, but very little room for add-on interacting UI elements, by getting rid of the status bar and adding all the add-on to the right hand side of the location toolbar, like Chrome does, are misguided at best IMHO. By properly hiding the unnecessary title bar, HTCP gave me the same amount of room they saved by removing the status bar and yet the same space for add-on interaction UI elements.
Congratulations on a great add-on. It was an absolute pleasure to use and I really appreciate the effort it must take to fight the Mozilla minimalists and their copy-Chrome agenda. Keep up the great work!

Huge improvement over Australis. Congratulations to the author for all their hard work. Simply excellent, massively appreciated. My favourite browser is now no longer my enemy.Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (126.96.36.199-signed).
Brilliant Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles
Sweet little extension. Arguably this should be the default behavior. Thanks for this. Works fine on Aurora or Firefox 27.0a2 (2013-12-09)

Broken in Aurora
AMO doesn't let me reply to your response Sparky so I'm updating this here instead.
Thanks for pointing me to the developer releases, I thought I'd looked hard for them but couldn't find them.
I tested the latest S4E (2013.09.14.22b) in Firefox (Aurora) 26.0a2 (2013-09-26) and everything broke big time. I've reported more details via the "Report Issue" button provided by the Addon Compatibility Reporter 2.01, if you don't get that let me know and I'll try to help again.
Thanks for your continued efforts with this extension, it's very important!
Brilliant but broken in Aurora 2013-04 Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
About a week back from Aurora 22.0a2 (2013-04-12) Sage 1.4.14 stopped loading feeds entries in the lower pane of the sidebar.Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (188.8.131.52-signed). Cet utilisateur a d’autres revues sur ce module.
Broken Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
This extension is bloated and is it any wonder since it has not been updated for over a year? +1 for the awesome text vanishing problem in 16.0a2 (2012-08-15) and earlier. Booh new Delicious owners, Booooh! Get your act together. I wish I could give zero stars.Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (2.3.1).
No good in text-button mode Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
Unfortunately this relies on a change of colour in the icon to indicate whether it is active. This is useless for those using text-only buttons.Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (0.2.9.1-signed.1-signed).
Needs updating Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles
I would quite like this if it was more configurable. For example I'd like the three options to be separate objects on the Customize pallette that I could drag wherever I wanted in the Firefox UI or leave alone. For example I don't care about the proxy feature so would like to leave that alone in the Customize pallette but use the other two options.

it is great to see thousands of people willing to go to the extra trouble to correct this poor decision by the Firefox designers.
In the glorious vague concept of 'reducing clutter' and 'designing for the mainstream' the Firefox designers have simply achieved one thing only: breaking functionality.

about the only thing about Google Chrome I found interesting was how it does away with the Window chrome. Useful to gain more screen real-estate of course.
This extension is brilliant because it brings that ability to the 'fox.
Code otimsation and beauty, wonderful! Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
Great to see someone take an old extension and update it for speed if nothing else.
Who is the lovely lady in the red T-Shirt? Is that Elad? Is Elad a girl's name? Haven't heard that name before.
Unfortunately I'd be a bit scared to try this just yet so just the one star for now.
I hope this was done in co-operation with Chris Pederick

This bookmark is a brilliant idea except it lacks one feature: uploading the saved / edited content to a centralised server. Otherwise all the content is jailed on the computer used to create them.
If such a feature could be integrated I would be hugely grateful and donate to the developer. As a web developer I know how much junk is on the net and how much of it can be trimmed and deleted to help me focus on what I want.
Post child for why extensions cannot replace native functionality Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
This extension is the 'poster child' for what is wrong with Mozilla relying on extensions for decent functionality.
The default Firefox RSS reading functionality (Live Bookmarks) is terrible.
Can someone dream up a case whereby Fennec's RSS reading must be improved? Otherwise since Mozilla has arguably put desktop develop on hold in the last 18 months, issues like the gross lack of a decent RSS reader in Firefox will not be addressed in the short term.
Of course the conspiracy theorist might suggest that Mozilla is happy for users to do RSS through Google Reader since Google bankrolls Mozilla. Hmmm
Good but poorly supported Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles
This is quite a good extension BUT the developers are apparently very slow to update it for new versions of Firefox which is really very annoying.
The fork of the project Sage-Too is apparently no better as one developer has abandoned the project citing selfish Firefox users. Is it selfish to want what should be standard in the browser? By default Firefox is quite ancient in it's feed reading abilities, no matter how much their marketing team wants to pimp "Live Bookmarks", and therefore a decent extension is needed and must be maintained.
Users get excited about new versions of Firefox and that excitement is met with a thundering brick wall when extensions don't update in time. It's not as if Mozilla doesn't give extension developers plenty of notice.
UPDATE THIS! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
Will someone PLEASE UPDATE this invaluable extension.Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (0.3.6).
Location bar bug Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
After installing this extensions URLs no longer displayed in my location bar. Needless to say the extension is no longer installed.
Shame because I could really use an extension that does what this claims to do.
