Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express

Irreplaceab;e Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

This add-on reliably and undemandingly allows you to download video content from YouTube at various resolutions.

With a small, medium, or large donation, you can furthermore download High-Definition videos or HQ music files in MP3 format.

There are others, but they're generally a nuisance in one way or another. Easy YouTube Downloader Express is very, very handy.

Just under the YT video, your download drop-down is as handy as you could want it to be.

This developer works hard, and provides good support. At the very least, give his add-on a good review, if you think it deserves one.

One Feature Alone Has Won Me Over — Permanently Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Ver. 2.0 — 2 Apr 2016

I haven't ever explored the many features of Korpus Lexical. I find it indispensible because of the one feature I first discovered: the text-to-speech component.

In fact, I didn't even know what plug-in or extension was providing the context-menu item "Speak Selection"... I thought it was the Google TTS extension I added long ago, but that gets in the way with a pop-up bubble, and the voice is hideous. Korpus provides a very, very advanced, professional, pleasant voice to read what I highlight on a browser page. It has one annoying bug in pronunciation (or else I've misconfigured something somewhere else), which I'll discuss with the developer.

I uninstalled it, thinking it was a scholarly citation facility, but I was wrong. When I found the TTS function gone, later, having forgotten just what I'd uninstalled, I had to find the cause. Now I know. And I'm keeping it.

Excellent work! I can't wait to explore other features.

With 1.9.8, I was receiving error messages when choosing "Speak Selection". This is no longer a problem. But where is the exceptionally good TTS voice that it used to use? It's now using something that sounds like Microsoft Anna. Did the extension always use my own default voice, or one of its own? It sure didn't sound like one of mine (Neospeech)!

And please, where can I find full documentation of the lexicographical features? They're certainly not self-evident.

AND ONE BIG REQUEST: A hot-key (e.g. "Spea&k Selection", displaying with the 'k' underlined) would make it possible to very quickly automate the activation of this feature. A configurable shortcut/hotkey (e.g. F11 or Ctrl-Alt-S, or whatever the user chooses) would be best of all!

Many thanks.

Texte à la voix

"Abby", My System TTS Voice, Feels Slighted Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

This is a very convenient add-on: Previously I was in the habit of loading TextAloud to have a page or section read to me; then I'd highlight some text and press a hot-key combination. This is so much easier! And it's a brilliant user-conscious coding feature that allows the user to download the same text as an MP3 in a single step, for uses of which I can think of many.

Did you sense a "but..." coming? It's just a small one.

I'd really like to have my text read to me, optionally, in the TTS voice(s) to which I'm accustomed — one of the two high-quality ones that I use exclusively. Would that pose a programming problem, or is it feasible?

Congrats on a very neat, non-imposing, perfectly useful, and thoughtful extension. It really is nice work.

Light Lines Blue by MaDonna

Light Lines Blue looks very sharp in its lilttle preview rectangle... but it really goes electric when installed! The top of my browser looks spectacular — very pleasing and sophisticated. Nice work! Thank-you.

BlockSite Plus

Did Rube Goldberg have a hand in this? ; { ] Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles

I appreciate an add-on that will block annoying sites that appear during redirects or as pop-ups (just as I love getting site ratings from WOT right next to a URL, saving me a lot of bad experiences).

I just don't understand why BlockSite doesn't simply (?) provide an icon that will add the focused tab or window to the $#|t list with just a click. It seems like the long way home to copy the URL of the offending window -- or worse, right-click for page info to get the hidden URL -- then open a menu, open Add-Ons, open BlockSite options, paste in the address, then back your way out and finally close the nuisance page.

See how Video DownloadHelper does everything in one click; it would be tremendous if BlockSite would grab and record the URL, and banish the window all with a click! Easier said than done, maybe?
