En détails…

I should probably introduce myself after participating after such a long while.

I'm an anonymous participant in the Mozilla project, focusing on testing and reviewing add-ons for compatibility, usability, and safety. Hence, I have made a lot of reviews.

I haven't created any add-ons, nor do I feel the need to; right now I'm happy sending feedback to developers, posting occasional bug reports, or asking for new features. I figure that for every person who uses Mozilla, only about 1 in 10 will actually sign up, so I aim to be their voice.

I believe in FREE and OPEN Internet, and have created a few collections in the hope that they may be useful arrangements. If you would like to change anything in any of them, email me.

Live HTTP Headers

Obsolete? Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles

I found this add-on tremendously useful in early versions of Firefox, but recently I discovered navigating to the browser console (Ctrl+Shft+K for Windows users) and ensuring 'Logs' are enabled under the 'Networking' filter will show the same thing in a sub-window of the current tab; perhaps even more neatly than this add-on can.

Open question: Is this add-on entirely obsolete, or might it still have some use?

Location Bar Characters

Works great Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

Does precisely what it says—helps you learn shortcuts to filter url-bar search suggestions.

NOTE: all of these shortcuts are part of Firefox, not part of this add-on. The add-on is just a tool to help you learn them.

Url-bar filtering can be useful if you visit one cool site, bookmark it, go to a similarly-named site a bunch of times after that, and look for the cool site (your suggestions will be full of your recently-visited websites).
Right-clicking the url-bar will reveal a drop-down of the symbols' functions to help you find what you're looking for.

Security Tab Colorizer

Interesting and useful; minor bug Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles

In the Australis theme, tabs are rounded; this add-on visibly clashes by colouring tabs in a squared fashion. Please fix this.

Online Reload

If you have a bad Internet connection, this add-on will NOT reload tabs when your Internet becomes disconnected. Presently, I do not know of any add-on that could help except maybe "lolifox - Fierr MOD" @

Rather, for people who use the feature "Work Offline" (by checking "File → Work Offline"), this add-on is useful: any tab that presents as the "about:neterror" page in Off-line mode will automatically reload after this particular feature is unchecked.

Had to examine the source code to find that out--one user complained it is "broken" because it doesn't do what they expect, so wanted to make this caveat clear.

Like the idea; I admit it's probably unnecessary Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

No average user should need this—if you see a padlock in your URL-bar, you have a secure connection and are okay to communicate securely on the Internet.

For security enthusiasts, it highlights something that may present itself as a weak link in secure (SSL/TLS) connections. Browsers do not individually ensure websites are who they say they are; they delegate this to a select number of "Certificate authorities" or CAs (given at that, in turn, vouch for the validity and security of websites. We don't generally see CAs that approve websites like or unless we open up the page dialog (

The extension displays these hidden Certificate Authorities in the add-on bar, grouped by country, and the bottom-level Certificate Authority for any given secure site. This should be enough for anybody concerned about "rogue CAs" they may distrust and would want to watch.

For a primer on secure connections, read or An add-on that might be of interest is Calomel SSL Validator, which can be found at

...Is it just me, or does the "when I click the Statusbar, do..." option box have no choices other than "Nothing"?

Happy, hippie Gruppentafel

Kind of amusing Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles

Like "LetItSnow" (, this is a mildly interesting and fun idea to add some "pizazz" to tabs while browsing.

However, it has a few minor annoyances that prevent serious browsing:
* The design (though beautiful) obscures page content quite a bit, and prevents page interaction such as clicking elements
* Toggle is per-tab: any tabs enabled must be refreshed after disabling (double-click or middle-click & hit refresh to toggle)
* No music will play for me when certain privacy add-ons are also present--specifically, RequestPolicy (default settings), Ghostery (default settings), or NoScript (when set to block scripts globally)

Criticism aside, I didn't expect this to be perfect--just jovial and eye-catching, which it is. I like it regardless and appreciate the developer's efforts. Kudos. :-)

Excellent at hiding porn Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

I critiqued this add-on by attempting to find porn using popular explicit keywords common to adult sites. All entries returned "No results".

Terms that are generally sexual—but not always—still get filtered. Searching for "breast" gave me, in the top ten, results for "breast cancer", "chicken breast", and "breast (anatomy)" at WebMD.

This looks like a pretty good alternative to Google for children, if you're concerned they might stumble on shady sites. Five stars.

Free Ringtones

Looks safe Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles

The entire download is an XML data sheet, not even a true extension. It adds a search engine to your search engine list, *definitely* not something that can override your homepage or hijack your browser.

As for how good the ringtones are, or how cheap, I can't say. Didn't download any of them.

PONG! Multiplayer

Partially compatible with Firefox 31.0 Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles

The 1-player mode still works, but to play it you need to install first, restart Firefox, and look for the game in the "tools" menu.

2-player doesn't work, but everything else checks out okay.

No issues apparent in Firefox 31.0 Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

* Ctrl-click opens breadcrumb in new tab
* Shft-click opens breadcrumb in new window
* Alt-click opens breadcrumb in current tab
* Domain highlighting, coloring, bolding and selection are all okay
* Protocol hiding works fine—even irc:// and gopher:// can be hid if used alongside ChatZilla and Overbite
* Autocomplete seems to work just fine for me (@ guess the bug was resolved, erm, in the latest updates of Firefox maybe?

Stop Redirect Gmail Splash Page

Yes, it does work. Just make sure you start from the correct page. Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

After a few tries I managed to reproduce satisfying results with this add-on, but noticed Gmail is VERY particular about how you go about this—if you are already on when you install this add-on (or attempt to access Gmail through that URL after installation), you will NOT be redirected to You MUST begin at (or the aliased URL for this to work.

@developer: Love your add-ons!
