This was simply the best and easiest direct downloader for YouTube, thanks to the pop up menu showing all available formats.
Regarding slow speed, this is coming server side from YouTube... ANY utility will have the same speed restrictions. Looks like they are throttling their bandwidth so nothing plays faster than it would for streaming... understandable; the amount of bandwidth they use must be staggering.
Sadly, it looks like this legacy add-on finally stopped working all together recently, as it will no longer download anything. The pop-up window showing all available formats is still working and useful however.
I would encourage the author to come back... web extensions isn't really needed as there are several XUL forks of Firefox now that people are using that this add-on in its current form can still work on... Pale Moon, Basilisk, and Waterfox, for example.

This add-on appears to work by telling YouTube that none of its video formats / file types will play back in its HTML5 player. That **used** to trigger YouTube's Flash player to load. But, YouTube has **completely removed** its Flash player code from its site, so now, all this add-on will do is cause YouTube's HTML5 player to display a message that the browser doesn't recognize any of the video formats available.
So I'm unclear as to why this add-on is still getting updates... since there doesn't appear to be any way it can work?
Unless there is some user agent trick or some other trick I don't know about... but then, if there is, that should be built into the plugin, shouldn't it?

The date bomb for this add-on is now in effect, and the add-on will no longer function in Firefox, unless you either roll back your system date, or, the instructions here may help you: http://tl.gd/n_1sqcu4r
Again, to the developer: There are XUL variants of Mozilla that people are now using, such as Waterfox and Basilisk. Please make a separate XUL based version of your legacy plugin for those users, and separate out this crippled version for Web Extension only versions of Mozilla (i.e., Firefox 57+). And please remove the date bombs, there are not the slightest bit necessary or user friendly for that matter.
WebExtension version needs to be a separate add-on Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
Perhaps the solution here is to make the "Web Extension" version of Stylish a separate add-on. It's what other developers have done, for example the Print Edit developer. It's a much better solution than fake 4-5 star reviews, which certainly isn't winning you any points back with users.Cet utilisateur a une critique précédente de ce module.
Lost all styles on update. Nothing works. MAJOR FAIL Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
Firefox 54.0.1, updated to Stylish 3.0.1, lost all styles. Reinstalled styles, but they don't work. Stylish only shows "You still don't have themes installed for this site" even though I do. Nothing works. Huge, major fail. How could this have been published like this? How could Mozilla have approved this? Useless waste of my time. Rolling back to real actual add-on version that works as expected and intended.
Yep, I locked at 54.0.1 as well Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
Have used this for years.
This is the kind of plug-in that Mozilla was supposed to be all about. "Your browser, your way." Add functionality, add toolbar buttons, etc.
Mozilla has transformed into Chrome. Why use it at all after 54.0.1 or 57?
If/when I have to update beyond 54.0.1, it will be Waterfox, which hopefully will work with this plugin.
No longer works! :( Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
Was great when it was working... but now, the HTML5 player is used regardless if this add-on is enabled or disabled. The behavior is same for the "other" add-on as well ("YouTube Flash Player"). I'm on FireFox 48.0.2 with Flash 18.104.22.168. I'm guessing YouTube has completely removed their Flash player from their servers... :(Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (61.2).
Another confirmation it's broken Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
When version 52.0 came out and I installed it, the add-on "deactivated." The add-on toolbar button disappeared. The add-on did show as installed on the Add-ons page. I could open the add-on's options dialog from there, but no settings had any effect, or would be remembered if the dialog was closed or reopened.
Rolling back to version 50.3 and the add-on was working normally again.
Today I noticed the toolbar button disappeared and the add-on went back to behaving as it did when I installed the 52.0 update. I checked the add-ons page, and the version was still at 50.3 (it did not "auto update" or anything). Uninstalling and reinstalling had no effect.
Rolled back to version 50.2.1 and no change; still broken.
Rolled back to version 50.2 and the add-on is working again!
Leaving this here in case it helps people. I tried contacting developer e-mail when 52.0 came out and did not receive a response. I then tried leaving a review here and it was deleted.
Very frustrating. Add-on is useful, just want it to work.
Don't let Complete YouTube Saver die! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
This is the only tool that I know of that can download *all* YouTube streams in their original form.
Other tools (including tools that are **not** free):
1. Only download three pre-muxed and low quality encoded files (flv 240, mp4 360, and mp4 720), and
2. **Re-encode** those files to make "fake" 1080p files and/or 480p files.
Complete YouTube Saver can download the *actual* 1080p and other high quality video DASH streams, *and* high bitrate audio streams, then **only** uses ffmpeg to mux the stream content to a MP4 file format (there's NO re-encoding, it's the same encode that plays direct from YouTube. You have the option of downloading the higher quality DASH streams for 1080p, 720p, 360p, 240p, etc., as well as *only* high bitrate audio streams... a lot of people don't realize that many YouTube videos actually have 256K CBR and/or 192K VBR streams available, and Complete YouTube Saver can download these in their native M4A encoding!)
While YouTube is not encrypted for the most part, the actual download links for the streams are, which Complete YouTube Saver is able to decrypt from your browser's ability to play the links. YouTube regularly changes the way this works, and it usually stops Complete YouTube Saver from working, so with no more updates, this final version won't last very long.
It would be an ABSOLUTE SHAME to lose this important and useful tool because 150 people (of the over 22,000 users) could not spare $2.00 per month.

Please don't let this add-on die!
Text glow permanently enabled Noté 2 sur 5 étoiles
Starting with version 28.7, text glow is permanently enabled with no way to turn it off. Reported on Binaryturf Colorfultabs forums three weeks ago. Installed new version 28.9 today, issue still not fixed. Very annoying.Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (28.9).
Does not work for copying URLs Noté 2 sur 5 étoiles
I tried this so I could right click -> copy link location. If you do that, the URL that gets copied is still the redirect. Furthermore, after you do that, the redirect comes back on the URL, so it will now go to the redirect again if you left click on it.

"The URL doesn't refer to an image, or the image is not publicly accessible."
Same image returns results in Chrome's "Search Google for this image".
Best WORKING YouTube download tool; needs version 5.5.3 and FFMPEG Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
Folks, this is the only WORKING app that lets you download full 1080P from YouTube WITHOUT UPCONVERTING FROM 720P. You NEED FFMPEG in order for it to work, and you should also configure the plugin to NOT HIDE the FFMPEG window. Do that and it WILL WORK.
You NEED version 5.5.3 or it will NOT WORK.
In a very sad turn of events, Mozilla, going against its users, has removed version 5.5.3 from their site. I in fact had a Mozilla moderator tell me that he believes that addons like this should be completely banned as he views that this addon is only used for "stealing." Wrap your head around that for a moment. This is also not the first time that Mozilla has removed working versions of Complete YouTube saver from their site with no explanation.
Sadly, it seems there is no Internet link to download version 5.5.3 anywhere else on the net as the developer does not want to set up a GitHub for some reason which would be the best way to solve this problem.
I recommend that you visit the developer's site, and send an e-mail to the e-mail address posted on their front page and request version 5.5.3 from them.
Hopefully something will be figured out soon to support the users of this very useful addon.

Sometimes, for web pages, automatic translation doesn't pick up on the correct language. The plugin doesn't allow the user to specify the source language anywhere for web pages, so for websites where this is the case, the plugin is useless for automatic page translations.Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (2.17.1-signed).
Add separate icon+text settings for individual toolbars and it'll be perfect! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
Turning Mozilla into Chrome does not make any kind of sense. If people want Chrome, they'll use Chrome. If they don't like Chrome, they use Mozilla, except, if the Mozilla developers could have their way, those users would be met with a browser that is basically chrome. So why would they use it?
Classic Theme Restorer keeps everything sane. My only quirk is that I like just icons on some toolbars, and icons+text on others. There is an older addon called toolbarmode that adds a context menu per toolbar to allow this, and it still works with Classic Theme Restorer, but, with limited functionality. For example, it can show icons+text with Firefox set to "Icons Only" on **just** the "Additional" toolbar, but the text appears to the side of the icons rather than underneath them. It also can set other toolbars to text only, but not to icons only if Firefox is set to "icons+text." So, it *must* be possible to write a working solution.
Thanks for the all the hard work that must have gone into this extension's development!

The review posted on 4/12/14 is untrue.
I **am** logged in to Scribd. Document is unprotected. Clicking the "Download PDF" from the right click menu does nothing.
Try it yourself if you like to waste time and be frustrated.
Disables my custom toolbar Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
I have a custom toolbar (View -> Toolbars -> Customize -> Add new toolbar). This addon hides it with no way that I could figure out to get it back, other than uninstalling ImTranslator. Using Firefox 26.0 on XP.Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (7.7.1-signed).
Broken in Firefox 25 and above Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
Not only does the add on not work, it breaks the entire Find function in Firefox, starting with version 25.0. Author has apparently stated he will not update the plugin.
Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles
Have been using since 2011!
Still loads with the latest Firefox 26.0, but does not retain Menu or Navigation Toolbar icon size when Firefox is restarted. The icon sizes will revert to whatever is set under "View" -> "Toolbars" -> "Customize", for the "Use Small Icons" check box.
Almost perfect! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
***UPDATE*** - The below review was written without my realizing that the ability to right click individual toolbars and change icon size is **NOT** default Firefox behavior, but behavior that is added from an extension called "toolbarmode" by JSLover, which I installed quite some time ago and forgotten about. This extension has not been updated since 2011. So, the problem is due to that extension, not Classic Toolbar Buttons!
It would still be nice though to get the icon sizes per individual toolbar to retain when Firefox is restarted! :P
This is **almost** perfect.
I'm currently on Firefox 26.0.For the longest time, I have struggled with the annoyance that I cannot have different toolbars, where some toolbars have large icons and some toolbars have small icons. I have to go to "View" -> "Toolbars" -> "Customize", then either select or deselect the "Use Small Icons" toggle checkbox. That means, ***usually***, that **all** (or **most**) toolbars will always end up reverting to small or large icons based on that checkbox, regardless if I right click a specific toolbar, select "Style/Icons" -> "Icons" -> "Small" or "Large".
For example, to reproduce this sort of thing, go to "View" -> "Toolbars" -> "Customize", then select the "Use Small Icons" toggle checkbox. Now right click any button on the navigation toolbar, select "Style/Icons" -> "Icons" -> "Large". You should now have large button icons on the navigation bar. Close Firefox, and restart it. You will see that the navigation toolbar has reverted back to small button icons.I was hoping that Classic Toolbar Buttons would solve this, but it hasn't!
