Mes critiques

Using this addon is like seeing faces rather than reading names. Much easier.

But I would like DuckDuckGo support, if possible.

Tree Style Tab

Must-have add-on. Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Firstly, it's worth pointing out that tabs are better on the side than the top, if you have a widescreen monitor (or anything above 1024px wide). In a browser, extra horizontal space is usually wasted, but extra vertical space is always good. Having tabs on the side also means that you can see more tabs at once, and keep them at a readable width. It is also quicker and easier to read them stacked, rather than side-by-side.

Now, for the tree style: it's brilliant. It does exactly what it says on the tin; it works very smoothly and has a consistent design. But where the tree-style really shines is where you have a lot of tabs open.

Let's say you've done a web search and opened 5 results, you have 10 photos from a flickr album, and you have a never-ending wikipedia clicktrail. Even before you do anything, the layout makes these 3 distinct groups visually obvious. But suppose you decide to look at those pictures later? Since they're all in the same group, you just click the arrow to collapse them, and you get all the space back, without losing the tabs or using multiple windows.

In short, this add-on is part of a perfect browsing experience. I've used it for a few days and I know I'm never going back.

Classic Compact

Great, but some small issues. Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

For those of us under 50, there's no need for the tabs and buttons to be as big as the default. If you install this, you really gain a lot of screen space.

- The autoscroll icon on Linux in Firefox has always been bad (not transparent for the past few years, for some reason), but this changes it to a jagged, ugly, grey thing.
- The buttons, for example in the preferences dialogues, are really hideous. I'd like to be able to change these back to OS-native buttons.
- The icons for the right-click menus (back, forward, reload, etc.) have disappeared. I never realised how much I rely on them until now!

Apart from these, it's great. I'd bump the review up to 5 stars if I could get these resolved.

Toggle Word Wrap

Should be added to Firefox base Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Vital for showing so many web pages. It's become my go-to fix for any bad rendering, and tends to work well!

I agree that it could do with an option to be on by default, but it's great anyway.

Make the switch! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Seeing as so many Vimperator users will be reading these reviews, let me say: don't think about it; make the switch. The thing that really made me change was the broken search suggestions. However, once I switched to Pentadactyl, I realised how much is incomplete in Vimperator (e.g. addons window and downloads!). Moving over completely is easy:
Type :mkv to save your Vimperator settings
Copy the .vimperator/ folder and .vimperatorrc files as .pentadactyl/ and .pentadactylrc
Install Pentadactyl
Disable/uninstall Vimperator
Restart Firefox

Disclaimer Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Suggested disclaimer: "After using Vimperator, you will hate all other modern browsers". Little bit of a learning curve, but it really is just perfect. By far the best add-on ever. Made an account just to write this.
