Search Panel in Context Menu

Grey Box Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles

Doesn't seem to work on Linux/Firefox 41. All I get is a large grey box in the middle of the context menu.

Also, one of the options doesn't appear to have been translated from the original Polish(?).

I've disabled for now, but I'll keep it installed to check in on development from time to time. I hope some way to manually select which search providers are shown (rather than just the top/first n) can be added.

I've been looking for something like this for an age. It'd be even better if implemented as a separate toolbar (rather than the add-ons toolbar), as for some reason certain add-ons re-add themselves automatically to the add-ons bar when firefox starts. Which is a tad annoying in this context, as I don't want to clog up my URL bar with these rarely used add-ons.

Integración con Gnome Keyring

Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles

A vital security feature that really should be incorporated directly into Linux/Gnome builds of Firefox. Sorely needing since development of Mozilla-Gnome-Keyring (xul-ext-gnome-keyring) seems to have stalled.

Alas, this version (v0.1) of the extension seems to crash Firefox 21, Thunderbird 17 and 20b. Otherwise I'd have given it a 4/5. It's early days though, so I'll keep it installed (but disabled) and test periodically.

Thanks for taking the time to develop this. :-)

Kitten Block

Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

A useful little add-on to deny the Waily Fail and Waily Ex-Press unintended page views. The less revenue this unabashed propagandists received, all the better for the cause of public discourse and society as a whole.

I would add though, that you should perhaps add to the list of sites blocked by this add-on. It's owned by the Daily Mail as far as I can see, it's comments sections are certainly littered with the same bitter, entitled little right wingers. ;-)

Suspend background tabs

Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

This add-on is a godsend, especially for those of us who rely on TabMix plus (which presently doesn't sport an equivalent to Mozilla Firefox's native tabs on demand feature within it's own otherwise superior session manager). It definitely seems to have improved performance and reduced the usual slow down from having a tab hefty session open for hours on end.

I'm not entirely clear on what this add-on does though. Does it 'retire' tabs a'la Dormancy ( or does it simply prevent things like javascript executing on background tabs. Either way, it works and a cooperation with the developer of Dormancy to produce an all-in-one multi-tab performance boost would be very much appreciated (perhaps with an aim to submitted for inclusion in Firefox proper; she needs better tab management presto!).

Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles

This is a brilliant idea, and in my opinion should be engineered directly into Mozilla Firefox alongside whatever functionality brings to the table. Firefox is a cumbersome bundle of uselessness the moment one opens more than a half-dozen tabs, and these add-ons definitely help.

Alas, this add-on has some very significant flaws which make it (for now) unusable. Specifically, the renaming of retired to "data:text/html…xyz&l;/title>". If this can be fixed and/or retired status be signified with some sort of on tab emblem iconography (a'la TabMix Plus tab protection and reload features), this little add-on would get 5 stars from me.

Is this add-on still under active development?

Cutyfox URL Shortener (,,

Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

This is my favourite shortURL add-on. Alas, it lacks key functionality that has forced me to install the Shorten URL add-on. They complement one another rather nicely, but it would be nice if Cutyfox included entries in the context menu to shorten hyperlinks, links to images and the current page.

I've also had some trouble themeing the Cutyfox awesomebar indicator icon via userstyle/stylish. For some reason, the default icon persists.

AVG Do Not Track

Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

I nice simple and informative Do Not Track extension. I would prefer it if there was an option to add the indicator to the awesomebar a'la Shareaholic et al.

Another shortcoming is that it's rather difficult to determine whether one should block a given tracker. I suppose AVG compile a white/blacklist for this purpose, but it would be nice to have a little more contextual information about each tracker (what are they using my data for, are they essential for certain site functionality, etc).

I've been eagerly observing the development of KeeFox. Alas, I switched to Linux wholesale by the time it become the polished wonder that it is today. I still use it once in a blue moon, when I am forced to boot into my Windows partition, but it would be great if KeeFox could work with Linux and KeePassX*.

* Perhaps something can be done once KeePassX 2 makes it out of alpha/beta?

Nice simple little add-on, low on resource consumption, no extraneous functionality.

It could really use a hotkey for those of thus who do not wish to clutter up the UI with myriad icons (or the add-ons toolbar). I'd give it five stars if it had a configurable hotkey.

Firefox Share (alpha)

Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

It'd be nice to see some significant update to this extension, and soon. Firefox share is just begging for google+ and the ability to post to multiple networks in one swoop.

Also, it would be nice if Firefox Share didn't swamp my unsorted bookmarks folder with shared links. I actually use that folder for all sorts of miscellany. Maybe only keep the last 10 shared links in a separate folder in/outside of the unsorted folder?

elementary Firefox

Great, but... Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

This is great, and fits perfectly with Dan Rabbit's eGTK theme.

However, I have noticed one compatibility issue affecting at least two popular add-ons (and probably more). The userstyle and userscript editors within Stylish and Greasemonkey respectively no longer show up (making editing code, a vital function of these add-ons, nye impossible). I've contacted the developer of Stylish and he was kind enough to inform me that the issues (affecting several other themes also) may relate to an update to Orion (Firefox's syntax highlighting editor). It'd be nice if this incompatibility, which no doubt affects other add-ons also, could be fixed in the next release. For now, I have little choice but to switch back to the default theme whenever writing or editing userstyles/scripts.

Personal Menu

Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

A brilliant add-on which provides some much needed improvements to the history drop-down (like, for example, a drop-down menu rather than a sidebar pane) and customisation options for the firefox menu. Also, the ability to get rid of those god awful drop-markers (which become redundant once you've been using the browser for more than 10 seconds and thus know which buttons open drop-down menus and which don't).

One little snag. It's not compatable with the Firefox Share add-on. This may be an issue with the Firefox Share add-on though, as it is only an alpha release.

Firefox Share (alpha)

Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles

I nice improvement on F1, although unlike F1, Firefox Share appears to have issues with the Personal Menu extension. When both are enabled, the Firefox Share icon (within the awesome bar) doesn't display. Which of course makes Firefox Share useless. It's a shame, because Personal Menu provides a much more functional history drop-down cf. the default history sidebar pane. I'll have to disable Firefox Share until this conflict is resolved. Where can I report this as a bug? Is mentioning it here sufficient?

An excellent little add-on that makes the address book behave as one would expect of a tabbed Thunderbird (this should be the default behaviour).

It would be even better if it used the default address book icon and/or placed the button in the mode toolbar (alongside the calendar and tasks buttons added by lightning).

One note. I have identified a minor incompatibility (more of a quirk really) between this add-on and the hide menubar add-on. Hovering over the main window menubar brings up a menubar for both the main window and the address book tab (it looks a little odd, although it could be useful).

AddressBook In Mode ToolBar

Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

Any chance of this being updated for Thunderbird v5.0 and perhaps having the address book open in its own tab (rather than a separate window; massive oversight on the part of the Thunderbird developers that!).

Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

I can confirm that no longer appears to function with UrlbarExt. I suspect it may have something to do with having moved their api from (I don't know where they've moved it).

Is there any chance of an update to restore functionality and perhaps add it's sister site It would also be good to have the option to able to use my own username and APIKey with them.

Tab Badge

Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles

It doesn't appear to work with Firefox 4.0b11 under Linux, at least not with Twitter. I've reported this apparent incompatibility along with a list of installed add-ons via the Add-on Compatibility Reporter.

(I gave 3 stars as it appears to work for others, and I couldn't bring myself to give 1 star for incompatibility with beta software under a minority platform)

History Button

Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

This is a great little add-on. Frankly I'm amazed that it has taken this long for the developers of Firefox (4.0) to implement a bookmarks drop-menu, and yet they still haven't realised the utility of a history/session drop-menu (crazy!). That we'll (probably) need an add-on for a history drop-menu in Firefox 4.0 is a little disgraceful really. That being said I'm very pleased that someone has taken the time to develop this, thank you Geoff Lankow!

One word to the wise though, it doesn't appear to be compatible with some themes (e.g. Strata RELOADED) as it appears to display half of two icons (forward and stop in the case of Strata RELOADED). Another oddity is that the history drop-menu isn't implemented as a separate toolbar button, but rather is tacked onto the existing bookmarks drop-menu to create a joint history/bookmarks widget. I'd prefer a separate button myself, for consistencies sake as much as anything else.
