In response to a previous review, the developer has stated: "First, I'm not sure that our script does give Google any information about what page you were on when the google search was loaded, since we are loading that page from within the script. Looking into that now. If it does, and there's a way to avoid this, we'll fix it as soon as possible."
Has this question been answered? I would think that if Google DID get the RS link, that would be a pretty major privacy concern.
The fact that this feature is turned on by default while this vital question remains unanswered doesn't instill confidence in either the developer or the add-on.
And don't give me the 'but we give you the option to turn it off' garbage. How many users will read the fine print? Just because someone installs something without thinking about it, doesn't mean they should be potential exposed to privacy issues.
Until the question is answered, the google search feature shouldn't be on by default. It should be off by default with the option to turn it on.
My wrist thanks you ;)
Even though I was able to set up a hotkey using autohotkeys, a configurable hotkey would be really nice.
Please add a delay setting.
I visit a site that prevents more than one link from being opened at once (to conserve server resources, I assume). If I could delay the links from opening by choosing the number of seconds, I could still use this add-on at this site.
I have no doubt that as more and more users take advantage of this wonderful add-on, more and more sysops are going to throttle their websites and prevent it from being used. I may be the only one asking now, but, in time, you should see more requests for this feature.
This is, by far, my favorite add-on.
So far I have only installed it and created folders for my search engines, but if it does what it's supposed to do, this Add-on is a lifesaver.
I get the feeling that this add-on is going to get very very popular. When I first started using it, I thought the searchbar was kind of silly. Now I'm totally addicted. I even have a search engine for Mycroft - a search engine to search search engines!
