Great...when it works Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles
Xmarks is mostly xcellent, allows you to store and sync all your bookmarks so you don't have to worry about losing them when reinstalling an OS or browser.
But for now it only gets three stars because it has an annoying tendency to go wrong without warning. I use profiles to keep personal and business sites separate on different systems and all too often I'll find that it has just decided to remove one folder or another or ignore my profile settings entirely. It only takes a second to fix this, but it happens quite regularly.
You also need to make sure that when reinstalling Xmarks on a new browser you do a full reinstall and don't restore the extension from a backup using FEBE or similar. When restoring from a backup it wipes out all your bookmarks, including overwriting those stored on the server! How this can be allowed to happen without your knowledge, I'm not sure.
Luckily you can see and revert all changes via the Xmarks site. If it wasn't for this I'd be recommending that everyone steer well clear as it's never certain what actions you take could result in some or all of your bookmarks going for a wander. That's something Xmarks really needs to improve on.
