Causes Firefox 50.* to crash Noté 3 sur 5 étoiles
Since firefox 5.01 or so Xmarks causes Firefox to grind to halt and then crash.
Appears that with xmarks installed Firefox keeps Locking/Unlocking access to places.sqlite-shm ultimately it get so slow it becomes unresponsive.
No any good way to report bug so using the review.
Was great when it was working.

XMarks - went from being great to being a load of horse puckies Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
Been using XMarks for a long time. I kinda let my configuration go and always meant to return and get it up and running properly again.
Can't seem to get it working anymore. I get the error message:
>>> GET ftp://email@example.com/bookmarks/foxmarks.json
[2017-03-16 02:51:03] Sync Error: Component returned failure code: 0x80004002 (NS_NOINTERFACE) [nsISupports.QueryInterface](undefined: 163)
[2017-03-16 02:51:03] SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data
[2017-03-16 02:51:03] Returned error: Synchronization error(4)
I've pretty much given up on this extension. It used to be great, but then it was purchased by LastPass, and went downhill. I don't know what this company was thinking, but they ruined a terrific product. Removing password sync was a stupid idea.
I wish I could get a working Windows version of the Mozilla sync server, since I prefer to host my own sync server, rather than relying on some company/organization. I'm really not a fan of the cloud.
LastPass and LogMeIn have ruined Xmarks Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
Constantly nagging to be signed in on every computer. I have disabled it and it still asks!. Will be removing Xmarks from every machine and cancelling my subscription.
Big fish swallowing small fish is bad news for end users.

Not good as it used to be... Noté 2 sur 5 étoiles
Something happened when Xmarks was bought by LastPass. Something bad. I never experienced issues before. Now I have to deal with sync error and most of all LOSS OF BOOKMARKS. The worst thing is that sometimes you don't realize it until you go to look for them... the most common case is to find a whole folder empty.
The backup function used to be able to merge with current bookmarks, so a backup would solve the problem without much of a pain. Now it does not anymore.
I don't understand what they're doing, but maybe it was better not to do anything at all!
I keep using xmarks because unfortunately there is no valid alternative (eversync is an option but has serious limits and bugs). I hope they will start working serioursly on this addon once again. But until then... DO FREQUENT BACKUPS!
Very useful Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
I am using Work/Home/Mobile computers with Firefox and Chrome. I am very pleased with the automatic and manual sync configurations and the excellent backup/restore functions for years.
Made my life hell! Have DELETED my account Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
HORRIBLE! They don't use incremental backup but erase your entire set and then replace it with what is on the server. So when there's a computer glitch (or maybe shut down when it is "syncing" and not all gets downloaded, those bookmarks are lost forever. Because they don't get downloaded, there are no longer on your computer, as if YOU had deleted them. The server then uploads those BLANK spots and perpetuates the errors! Then it fills in with others. Sometimes even ones you yourself had deleted LONG AGO! SCRAMBLES them all into some other order than where you want them. Mixes everything up so you don't know what is what! Have downloaded every iteration they had and "look forward" to hours and hours of non-productive frustration of comparing them all for MY ADDITIONS that are now lost somewhere in the mix. I am a researcher and bookmarks are extremely important for my various projects. I thought Xmarks would make my life easier switching from desktop to laptop. WRONG!

Excellent Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
Very intutive, Usefull
Too buggy Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
I tested Xmarks under two weeks now using just two computers, an own server and the same latest firefox. Both computers started with the same bookmarks. Automatic sync is not working. You have to start syncing manually at the beginning and the end of a firefox session. Sometimes bookmarks were deleted, even when this seems unlogical. Sometimes, all bookmarks were deleted. Moving more than one bookmark into another subfolder often generated an error saying that something is not supported using the own server.
It was a waste of time for me.
Why remove password sync? Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
No reason to remove the password sync feature since it still works in the backend and is still usable. Why not add functionality instead of making the service worse? Not upgrading to this. I used this addon for over a decade and still use the password sync.Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (4.4.0). Cet utilisateur a 2 revues précédentes sur ce module.

Best Bookmarks Manager Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles
I've used Xmarks for more than 15 years. Xmarks is the best bookmarks manager I have found. I store a lot of bookmarks in folders in Firefox as my primary browser and I want them to show up in Safari when I use it. I also want my bookmarks to show up on my iPhone and iPad.
However, Xmarks can present challenges. First, syncing between Safari and Firefox requires monitoring the two sets of bookmarks and being careful they match up. Often, the "Favorites" in Safari will get out of sync with Firefox and it will take some effort to re-match them.
Second, getting my bookmarks to show up accurately on my iPhone and iPad is problematic. Since the bookmarks on my phone and iPad are driven by what Safari stores in iCloud, it is critical to make sure my Safari Favorites match my Firefox bookmarks. Sometimes, I have to wipe the Favorites saved on my phone and iPad first to get them to update.
Net, it takes some concentrated effort periodically to get my bookmarks to fully and accurately sync between Firefox and Safari AND across my laptop, iPhone and iPad... but it can be done with Xmarks. Without Xmarks, it simply would not happen.
2/18/17 - Update -- I recently tried Google Chrome and discovered that Xmarks not only works on Chrome, but it significantly FASTER than on Firefox. Why??
