What happened?
等更新完好使了再回来改评价 - Noté 1 sur 5par cherrjus, il y a 2 ansRecent update caused memory leak BAD...Dont tell me to update Native app..that is up to date. It is this extension via troubleshooting mode. Normal memory load is less than a gig. Enable this one extension and it skyrockets to 5GB immediately then crawls its way up to 8GB before browser is unusable and I need to kill the leaking process.
- Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 17226500 de Firefox, il y a 2 ansI found out this evening that this extension was causing Firefox to slow to a crawl. Thank goodness troubleshooting mode is there. I had to use that to finish removing this from the browser and made sure to report it for slowing down my computer.. You broke this extension with that terrible update. When it does load which is rarely. It loads every single video which can no longer be cleared. Your nonsense fixes are not worth the time based on the complaints i have read. Roll this useless update back completely since you can't get it to work properly and i will come back.

I tried "hard reset" or whatever it was but, history keeps on adding up to hundreds. I know any programs will data-mine. But, after you are done, let me just erase them simply like used to. Oh, I just now, literally just now, found that there is a trash can icon at the top, now. Will see if it can clear things up.

mis en ligne : il y a 2 ansPlease update to 4.12 version with disabled history detection option.
In case of problems with clearing history please reset the data at the menu Settings - Reset, using WIPE OUT AND RESET button.
This will delete any data in the extension storage, and reload the extension.

- Noté 1 sur 5par Frank, il y a 2 ansAVD used to be Perfect! I could download it, use it, get the video file, and view it. It worked. Now, with every update it's getting worse and worse! Not only does it not work no more, my computer crashes so bad my only option is to hold down the power button and restart my computer. Why?! Why did you guys have to mess with perfection? It was perfect, it didn't need any updates! Now, your latest update needs to be updated again because not only does it not work, it causes my computer to crash!
Developer Response: Well sir what you need to do is...
No! What you need to do is re-upload "AVD-NativeApp-3.3.40-Release" Leave AMD alone and work on a different project. This gonna be like "Adobe Flash" just keep messing with it till you destroy it.Réponse du développeur

Réponse du développeur

The issue with overload is related to the cache from previous add-on versions.
Please try to reinstall AVD add-on and Native Application and reset the data at the menu Settings - Reset, using WIPE OUT AND RESET button.

mis en ligne : il y a 2 ansIf you encounter the issue with RAM usage again, check if there is a child process called ffprobe.exe running and consuming CPU and virtual memory.
Don't use default task manager for reviewing process, use Process Explorer from Microsoft (former Systinternals):
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer
It provides a much better view of system processes.
If you see ffprobe.exe hanging under firefox.exe and consuming resources, kill it and then go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Ant.com\Ant Video downloader and delete ffprobe.exe
You will have MPEG-DASH protocol disabled in AVD but there will be no more RAM issues. - Noté 4 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 14141866 de Firefox, il y a 2 ansUPDATE 2: It is definitely re-occuring every couple of reboots for me. It is very evident at browser start. It is likely there is some database issue or history issue with the recent version that is instantly fixed if you just wipe and reset.
UPDATE: The problem occured again a few days after reinstall. Repeated steps and now on Build 4.1.2 Build 2 (Jan 11 2022) to see if the problem occurs again but it is working fine again. ffprobe.exe was not the cause of the high system resource useage, it was just firefox.exe according to Process Explorer.
Like everyone, I had a problem with this addon recently causing browser wide issues.
I can't even access the addon menu to remove it either. I disabled it for a few days and then fixed it today.
Follow these steps as explained by the dev and it should reset it for you back to working condition:
1) Uninstall addon from extensions.
2) Reinstall addon.
3) Click on the ANT icon in the toolbar, select "settings" link.
4) In the ANT's settings tab, go to "Reset".
5) Click "Wipe Out and Reset".
6) Restart browser, reinstall the native AVD app if necessary.
I hope the devs in the future can do more testing to prevent legacy extension data from a previous version from crippling the entire browser.
Cheers and thanks for the addon.Réponse du développeur

5) Reinstall AVD 4.12. Wipe out storage for the final shot.

Before reading your reply I've unistalled the extension and deleted most of the files that had antt in their content.
Reinstalled addon (and host app). Worked fine, so wipe/reset from addon options. Unfortunately after a few hours everething went back to the same shit with memory leaks.
Do you want me to remove all of the storage\permanent\chrome\idb contents? Like my other extensions data?
If the problem persists I'll prolly revert to the old version which I liked better (more streamlined, less clutter). Unless the problem lies with the host app.Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 2 ansThank you for feedback.
Once you run Wipe out and reset, then no need to remove all extension data.
Can you please contact support and provide more information about your activity in the last few hours (websites you visited, video downloaded, any settings you turned on)?
If you're using Windows 10/11, expand firefox process in the task manager to see if a subprocess like avd-host.exe or ffmpeg.exe are causing the issue.
Also, what's your browser and operating system versions, hardware you use? The more information you provide the better.
Copy your review message from here so we can identify your response.

Like we wrote to other people in these last days, resetting the extension storage should help resolve the issue. - Noté 5 sur 5par dare2live, il y a 2 ansJust want to report that doing a full "Wipe Out And Reset" under "Settings" completely solved the memory leak/build-up issue! Some weird UI issues (affecting other Firefox addons as well) also disappeared after the reset.
(Hopefully more Firefox users are able to figure this out, or they might think it's an issue with a Firefox update & switch browsers... >.<)Réponse du développeur

- Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 15427212 de Firefox, il y a 2 ansCurrently (1/7/22), Ant takes up more than 5Gb of memory rendering Firefox unusable.
Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 2 ansCurrently, we're unable to reproduce the issue, but we suspect it may be caused when updating from version 4.9 to 4.10, and then to 4.11-4.12.
The problem may be in the data left from version 4.9. Unlike Chromium-based browsers, Firefox does not delete extension storage when you uninstall it, even in debugging mode.
Try resetting Ant Video downloader, go to Settings - Reset, click the WIPE OUT AND RESET button. This will delete any data in the extension storage, and reload the extension.
Let us know in the support if this helps you solve the issue.
Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience. - Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 14554338 de Firefox, il y a 2 ansbe very careful with this, there's a huge memory leak, I was at 20,000mb yes 20gb in my firefox browser in the last week or so, 01-06-2022 and I thought something was wrong with my net connection, updating games or devices, nothing, and I turned off about 25 addons in firefox, it was the ant. it took over 5-6gb just in the main window with nothing in it waiting to browse with some text boxes of other interesting news ff plops on there for $. when the meory leak is fixed, I'll put this back to 5/5.

After deleting the addon and adding it again, the addon seems to work great. No memory leaks at all.
I am updating my score to 5 stars
ORIGINAL:
It was working great some weeks ago. Now it's impossible to work with it.
Has huge memory leaks when I open it. Firefox ends taking all of my RAM (12 GB of my 16GB). My computer gets laggy and I have to close Firefox just 5 minutes after opening it.
I will disable the addon until this big issue gets fixed.
It was a great addon, but not anymore. - Noté 5 sur 5par Seb, il y a 2 ansEDIT:
Many thanks dev team, the reset solution solve the memory leak issue.
Back to 5 stars !
I had to retry several times because even getting the settings tab clicking on the icon was imposssible due to memory leak bug triggering immediately after start.
So you're probably right the extension storage was corrupted after upgrade and caused this bug.
Why not releasing a new version which auto-resets at first start after installation in order to solve the issue for everyone ?
I used this shortcut to get into the settings without the annoying button bug (UUID should be different, identify with Firefox "about:performance" tab):
moz-extension://b3f1c4cd-c575-44b6-b256-5524cf739da3/ui/frontend/dist/settings.html
Then, first reset try hanged (memory leak again).
Next time I uninstalled extension/ restart Firefox / reinstalled the extension and used the reset option again which at last succceeded
thank you for posting this solution !Réponse du développeur

Regarding the auto-reset of storage on install, good point, we'll implement right in the next release.
