There is a new sheriff in town: https://addons.mozilla.org/sl/firefox/addon/search_by_image/.
Helpful info.. (I've been here before because of nonworking TFSC) and my old eyes need help, like a lot of peeps showing up here :)
First, I only use PC Waterfox 64bit 54ver. and I use Thunderbird 32bit 52ver. I have ALL my addon's turned off and not to update including WF and TB. I realize now, That Firefox and Thunderbird will never add some helpful font adjustments for our bad eyes :(
If you read through the reviews. You'll see some info reviews on how to download and install a non expiring version of TFSC on earlier version of FF, Waterfox, TB. I only wanted to help people because I feel their pain on not being able to see and need help and remember to turn off all updates that includes FF, TB, WF. . I still want to give props to the Author of TFSC. Thx you!
TinEye has pretty much always been junk. Google, Yandex, and Bing are a million times better. Tin can't find the picture lying on the floor in front of it.
Used to work but now finds ZERO results. I even tested images that I've uploaded to several sites and it did not find a single one of them. So decided to try Google search. It doesn't work either! What is going on with these reverse image search engines?
This extension is just useless. I've got "0 results" for any image I tested.
Pensé que usaba el motor de búsqueda de Google, pero al parecer usa el suyo propio. Eso está bien, pero no es lo que yo quiero.
Well, where is the development of this extension? Will he update it or not? Without this extension it is very inconvenient in a new browser
Excellente extension et service, je les utilise depuis longtemps pour trouver des sources alternatives, ou vérifier l'utilisation qui est faite d'une photo.
As much as I like the idea of the extension, I find it very suspicious that they failed to properly mention some of the most important information about their privacy, namely "When you use our services, we may automatically log certain information about your use of the services. This information may include how you use the service, your IP address, your search query, the date and time of your query and referrer URL.". A simple line of text here would've made it look more authentic, yet I had to visit their website and go through a few web pages to access this information.
This makes my work so much faster... I do a lot of searches a day! Fantastic, Thanks a bunch.
Does what exactly what the description says
I did a reverse lookup with TinEye on a suspected Craigslist scammer. The reason I did the lookup is an image on an ad only hours old showed up on Google on another web site, while looking up the specs on that particular boat. TinEye failed to find the Google image from the Craigslist image. I then tried the reverse & TinEye also failed to find the Craigslist image from the Google image.
If the image in question can be found, this finds it.
Version 1.2.2 works well.
But I can't install the new version (1.3/1.3.1). FF (53.0.3 on Win7) tells me the addon file is corrupt.
Would you mind sending us an email at email@example.com about this issue? We can follow up more easily by email. Thank you!
How i can remove tinye from context menu of tab (new or open).
Thx for answer. Firefox 53
Running Firefox 52.0.2 ESR, I'm getting the same message as I did with 1.3.0 - "The add-on downloaded from this site could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt".
Are the developers aware of this?
Sorry to hear you've been having this issue with our extension. We haven't been able to reproduce this issue on our end. Would you be able to share what operating system you are using and maybe send a screenshot of your error to firstname.lastname@example.org? Thank you!
Just opens up the image in a new tab. And that's it.
More complete than "Image Search for Tineye", because it has the ability to search image AND the whole page. But I prefer "Image Search..." because I don't really need this feature.
i dunno why doesnt work anymore. please solve it for my situation. when i try to right click its open the source of the image in a new tab.
TinEye is a small company but they are doing an outstanding job. I found that in at least half of my reverse searches TinEye outperforms Google. Very useful add-on when it comes to tracing the real origins of images for research projects and making sure they can be reused.
