It help me a lot for CSS.
I can find strange positioned element with it :
perfect old tool:
Very happy to find this tool. Just worked without any special setting in FF54. Thanks!
Tested in different Firefox versions, both the standard release and the developers release, disabling the compatibility support and I was not able to make it work.
Most powerful thing on old original 3d view was, that if you clicked an element, it also was highlighted in console so you could manupulate it, e.g. css properties and so on.
This nicely shows 3d model, but has only limited potential to actually find object in DOM and the abillity ow working with this found element. (and I know that doubleclick shows code window, but just as a text, not in console)
Awesome and helpful tool for finding mistakes, errors or just some things you're curious about in a page.
The only missing thing is being able to isolate the rendering of the elements to a certain part of the page (for example, by selecting a node from the HTML tree, the same way you would get it highlighted).
THIS would make this addon trully useful for web development and webpage debugging, as well as helping the new webpage designers/developers understand better how things work.
in latest DeveloperEdition (54.0a1) still works in non e10s window...
DOM elements, CSS and HTML are shown if you use doubleclick for selecting elements...
Please add the details of selected node (Dome element) under the screen other-vice its pretty useless, we dont use this tool to have fun , its to recognize the css errors so please add a way to aee the selected element with its full path (like original firfox 3D view does)
The addons is not working in firefoxDeveloperEdition. Cannot it be useable ?
CTRL + SHIFT + L
Is the correct key combo to launch Tilt.
Instructions on project page and addon page are incorrect!
CTRL + SHIFT + M launches Responsive Design mode
This project hasn't been updated since 2011, so figures...
Ich finde die Erweiterung prima. Oft geht es viel schneller, wenn man sehen möchte, wie die Elemente aufeinander gebaut sind bzw zu Elemente finden, die komplex und verschachtelt aufgebaut sind.
There is a shortcut conflict with default firefox shortcuts (Firefox 45.x)
To solve this issue :
Add Menu Wizard Add in in firefox
Go to customize shortcuts
Look for Ctrl + Shift + M
Change it to Ctrl + Shift + Alt + M
Try with Ctrl + Shift + M to verify if it works.
This time round, running a new version of Firefox it worked.
As Rick noted, hotkey doesn't work [must go through Developers..., which is a pain].
Also, no saveable prefs, so big honking sidebar opens every time. Hideable, but still...
Other issues: in process of 3D-izing page, it turns page into an [non-html] object. So forget scrolling etc. Having no saveable prefers, you must reactivate Tilt every new page, sigh.
But it's free, so what the hey.
Thanks for it Mr. Robcee
I was about to say it was having issues(kinda still is) but running it through developer does indeed work. Works fine and it's a really cool and amazing concept to be able to view websites in 3-D.
Only thing that needs fixing is the shortcut command to activate, since Ctrl+Shft+M does not work.
I can only activate the 3d function in "Inspect Element" and how i can reset it exept reloading the page
tolles add-on mit tilt 3d sehen die websites echt super aus
This is a phenomenal tool, however using Firefox 26.0 on a Mac (running 10.8.5) when I export I only get the .obj and the .mtl files, the .png file is nowhere to be found. Is this a bug or am I missing something?
Very nice add-on, and much superior to its built-in equivalent in the debug /developer tools, but with a glaring problem:
export does not export a PNG.
This addon is awsome.
However it is found conflicting with firegesture, a must have addon for firefox personally.
I might just be stupid, but I can't figure out how to turn Tilt on!
The hotkey "Ctrl+Shift+M" is already taken, and I don't know how to get into Tilt to change it.
Try and go to Tools -> Web Developer -> Tilt from the menu.
Indispensable para todo desarrollador web.
very well written, Thanks.
i can't believe that the 'powers to be' keep dropping cool things from mozilla (firefox) like tab.preview and now 3d view in inspector.
Well thanks for not only building a replacement, but a seemingly better one
I don't see the option to export the 3d rendered data! Not sure if its an existing bug. Other than that its a kewl utility.
Take a look at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tilt/reviews/383660/
"Tilt" shortcut key clash with the [Tools] \ [web developer] \ [adaptive design view mode] shortcuts
You can change the shortcut key after starting Tilt by visiting the "Settings" menu in the top right.
