Pourquoi le module TableTools2 - Copy/Sort/Chart/Filter Table&More! a-t-il été créé ?

Here's the long history of the brand new TableTools2:

6 or 7 years ago, when Firefox was at version 0.7 or earlier, I had the idea of converting an HTML table sorter I made that was the most powerful on the web that I could find into a Firefox extension, because I like Firefox a lot. 5 years ago due to increasingly busy schedule, I stopped actively developing new features for TableTools but still kept putting out maintenance releases that fixed bugs and worked on newer Firefox so that the tens of thousands of active TableTools users could still have it for them.

In the mean time, more features were requested by the users and I had a lot of new ideas for TableTools, just never had enough time to fulfill them. Early 2010 I started requesting donations on TableTools, and I was moved by those who wrote emails expressing gratitude and/or donated. The money wasn't much, but the appreciation by users planted a great seed that kept driving me to work on TableTools2 despite busy schedule. Later I moved TableTools off Firefox hosting onto my own website to prepare to release TableTools2, which contains many features of my commercially available cross-browser Javascript package (also named TableTools) developed late 2009. I made the move such that I know I could obfuscate the source code to minimize the effect of TableTools2 on the sales of my JS package (which has a source code license). But earlier this year I noticed that Firefox now accepts and reviews obfuscated source code as well, so once I finished TableTools2, I released it on Firefox addon page to reach the most users possible, as this free tool is certainly going to help many users. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Prochaine étape pour TableTools2 - Copy/Sort/Chart/Filter Table&More!

I put in most of the features I wanted to put in, but still have some leftovers due to my resolve to release it before FF4 final. Those leftovers might make their way into TT2 updates gradually, and I envision new releases containing new localizations (I put in English and Chinese for now and Babelzilla volunteers will put in more) and bug fixes releases.
