Very useful addon, I used it 2 years back and found out today that its having slow development wrt to current FireFox versions. I want to say to the coder, though number of users are limited for your addon, but its very helpful for those particular users who search for these helpful addons when they are in need for a thing or want to customise or play with firefox according to their particular way.
There is a re-write of SubmitToTab, with improved reliability and restartless support: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/tabsubmit/ -or- http://code.kliu.org/misc/tabsubmit/
i'm sure someone will release an "official" update for this, but a member on our forum did a quick patch of the addon to make it load and run in firefox 4 final, looks like it just needed a version string edit: http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=9747.msg243097#msg243097
This is THE most useful add-on for my day-to-day duties at work, I am going to have to downgrade back to an earlier release of FF until it can be updated for the latest release
One of the best :) Please update to 4.x!
btw, after changing max version in update by Hendrik Lipka - it works with ff4.0
Need support for Firefox 4.0b11, because it worked great on the older versions! :D
thanks, submittotab-0.3.5.1-hli.xpi works successfully on firefox 3.6.x!!!
Override maxversion compatibility DON'T work.
So use this unofficial update, I personaly checked the code and is clean, I can say it's a "SubmitToTab Lite".
Update by Hendrik Lipka for firefox 3.6.x:
Use update by Hendrik Lipka for firefox 3.6, works great!!! http://hendriklipka.de/software/mozilla/submittotab-0.3.5.1-hli.xpi
I have created a version running with FF 3.6 (but not later versions). It can be downloaded from http://hendriklipka.de/software/mozilla/submittotab-0.3.5.1-hli.xpi
(No guarantees, but it works for me). I needed to remove the context menu entries, but middle-click works.
please update for 3.6 :) !
I used this Add-on for years and don't want to miss it now.
So please make an update for Firefox 3.6.
Please update this plugin to work with Firefox 3.6
this is one of the extensions I rather not live without :)
Intuitive, like middle clicking on links.
But on one inner web-site (naumenSD) it works not perfect:
1) after middle-clicking submit button i have background tab with results (success)
2) in parent tab I can't middle-click submit button again or even left-click on submit button. Please try to find a fix if you can.
P.S.: Tests on http://dragtotab.mozdev.org/submittotab/ work fine as many times, as i click.
Need to ignore the version check, but it works great. Hope this finally gets fixed in the browser so that we don't need an addon for this!
What does the asterisk in
- Firefox: 1.0 – 3.0.*
On my v3.0.8 it complains that it is not compatible.
Tab-addicted me can't live without this extension. One of the first I look for with a new FF install.
Please look at this discussion https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433168.
There is a code to enable context menu on form elements.
Very good extension! Should be implemented by default.
But I would also like to suggest the two already mentioned functions.
1. When hovering over the link the statusbar should show the URL.
2. STRG/Alt/Shift+Enter should also work.
I try to cmd-click / middle click form submit buttons all the time. It just *feels* like that should work. So it's great to find an extension that does exactly that :)
It's a very useful addon.
Just it has a problem.
In this page you can see:
"Works with: Firefox: 1.0 - 3.0.*"
But in the .rdf file it's written:
And it's not true and I had to correct it by myself...
It's MUCH BETTER than the "Smart Middle Click" extension.
