Refined GitLab adds small, focused improvements to the GitLab web UI. Features are modular and can be turned on or off in the popup.

Better change line counts
GitLab shows total files and lines changed on a merge request. A dependency lockfile or generated artifact can dominate those numbers and hide the size of the real code change.

This extension reads the MR diff metadata and shows a second total next to the native stats: files and lines excluding lockfiles and common generated paths (package-lock.json, yarn.lock, Cargo.lock, go.sum, *.min.js, and similar). Hover the extra stats for which files were left out.

Works where you use GitLab
Runs on gitlab.com and self-hosted instances. No account, no backend, no telemetry. Preferences sync with your browser when sync storage is available.
