  • This addon has the honor of being my favorite, and I LOVE it. It's saves me sooo much grief when it comes to quickly replying to messages on Reddit. However, recently the addon has stopped working completely. It would be amazing if this problem was addressed and fixed.

  • Was a wonderful addon but it seems to longer work after a certain Firefox version update.

  • It was awesome but it stopped completely working since 4-5 days ago, not sure what,s going on, I need this so I know when someone reply to my messages since this reddit doesn't email for replies reliably by themselves.

  • Definitely does what it's supposed to do, but it's not the most efficient. Takes a lot of resources and will definitely slow down your browser. It was worth it when I had to respond to Reddit mail quickly every ten minutes or so, but you're probably better off just browsing until you naturally come to it.

Pretty good considering there aren't really any alternatives, but probably not worth the performance hit.

Would you mind sharing how you are measuring the performance hit on Firefox? I'd love to solve these types of problems.

  • The addons seems to work fine after it's latest update. I find this really useful when I'm doing something in another tab and I don't want to have to keep switching tabs and refreshing reddit to check my messages.

  • At the very least the extension still plays the notification sound and the toolbar button still acts like a quick link to messages, but overall the functionality has been significantly reduced. It no longer shows the number of waiting messages on the button, and I don't recall seeing one of the popups in a while.

To be clear, there are bugs reports that have been sitting on the Github since April 4, and it's May 15 now with no word from the developer on them.

  • In-browser notifications have stopped working as of a couple weeks ago, and right-clicking the icon no longer shows the checking inbox animation. Desktop pop-up notifications still seem to work when enabled, but I would rather have those disabled.

  • Works great. Only problem is the freezing that I get on browser especially when I type something or simply hold shift button. Im with default config and 8 following reddit.

  • Works as it should. Only minor gripe is that the icon keeps disappearing from my add-on bar that I enabled with the Classic Theme Restorer extension. The only way to keep it from disappearing is to check the box for "Try to keep the addon button visible", but it doesn't allow me to move it from the nav bar. Every time I move it to my add-on bar and I restart Firefox, it moves back to the nav bar.

  • I give it 4 stars, it is really nice little addition to FireFox - and I agree with last poster about it being a missed opportunity for the Reddit Suite they would of fit all together nicely. I am not sure what I do not like about it, or this plugin to be honest - it does what I want it to but I did sync it down to 10 seconds for each check and I doubt this would implicate things for the fact I connect to Reddit more like every 5 seconds switching links.

    Very nice, keep it up!

EDIT: Just noticed, not sure if it is me but when I am not on a Reddit page it claimed I was logged out.

  • Works well! He's also implemented some of the suggestions people have given, which is always a plus.

  • Nice, and useful, addon but it really needs volume control. I had to turn off the audio notifier because it deafened me every time I got a message. And ideally a slightly faster refresh rate. I saw someone else mention every 5 seconds which might be problematic but 30 seconds seems a bit infrequent too, if you're having a conversation.

This has been fixed in version 1.5 which should be reviewed by Mozilla within the next week. Thank you for your feedback!

  • I recently switched to Firefox from Chrome and extensively used the Chrome version of Reddit Enhancement (RedditNotifier, Not RedditEnhancementSuite although I use that too), RedditNotifier does exactly what that other Add-On does and better in my opinion. As the other reviewer mentioned it could do with a quicker refresh rate, but I haven't needed to use that yet so I didn't modify it like he did. Thanks for making this app guys!

  • Nice idea; could do with moderator mail being an option. I've just been made a mod, and the notifier show I have infinite notifications. If I click it, it goes to mod notifications. If I close that, I get the same notification, rather than it having been cleared by me going there already.

Would be great to have notifications for multiple accounts but I suspect thhat would require a fair bit of extra work...

Could you provide more detail on the moderation mail notification bug? I had tested the moderation mail notifications and it appeared to work properly, so I'm not sure what is going on here. Feel free to contact me via email or on reddit (/u/BoringCode).

  • Loved the application, I started to use it because people on the subreddit I'm subscribed to were giving out their extra Humble Bundle games for free. But I found the app was not quick enough so I opened the .xpi file with 7zip and edited the main.js to allow 5 second refresh rates.
    Great App 5-star!!
