Critiques pour OneTab
OneTab par OneTab Team
Noté 5 sur 5
This is one of my all time favourite addons, so it was with horror and dismay, after it having worked without a hitch since the day I installed it, I awoke one day to a totally blank OneTab page staring back at me with terse and cold indifference. The "OMFG, no, no, no, no, NO, this can't be happening!!" factor was real!!
But! Having regularly taken advantage of the backup option, I was somewhat hopeful I could fix things and lose only a couple of days worth of new tabs. Unfortunately though, no amount of disabling/re-enabling or uninstalling/re-installing could bring back the last tabbed days of my online life. Then, having nothing to lose, I decided to revert to an older version as suggested by a user further down the comment line:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/3359470/onetab-1.29-an+fx.xpi
Oh blessed be!! It's back! It's all back! I could hardly believe it! Whew! Cheers of joy, high fiving myself (and the cat) and a couple of woop woops broke the tense and mournful atmosphere and I was back in business, baby! :) (Shout out to Keegan Witt for the link to the old version. Thank you, my friend! Thank you!)
So... Despite the heart attack-inducing shock of potentially having lost all that was dear to me (tab-wise anyway) I am giving this addon 4 stars. When it works, it works like a dream, so I won't punish the team who made this otherwise brilliant addon by giving a lower score, because do you know what? Sometimes, shit happens. Yup, sometimes it just happens, even to the best of us. The fatal errors in the new version are most certainly not done intentionally and I feel a great deal of compassion and empathy for the poor developer/s who are maybe having a minor heart attack of their own, sleepless nights and they're probably (hopefully) working feverishly in a panicked sweat to fix whatever went wrong and get things back on track. I just can't bring myself to jump on any "cancel culture" bandwagon and diss or abandon this addon after all it has done for me, and besides, I am hopeful there'll be fix soon.
So, to keep this review short, (Yikes! Too late!) I still request a donate button somewhere on the OneTab page and I will be thankful and grateful and happy for having this FREE addon available to me. When it works, it's a little piece of heaven.
So as I said, 4 stars it is, and now I'll be off. I have some more tab-hoarding to do....
Rant over.
Edit (a couple of days later): I'm upgrading my rating to five stars. Turns out all the blame for the temporary malfunctioning of the addon lies with Mozilla and not the OneTab addon. Installed the latest fix and everything's back in perfect working order.

mis en ligne : il y a 5 moisHi, sorry about this. We've been working with Mozilla all morning to resolve this. Mozilla have confirmed it was due to a bug in Firefox (related to extension permissions downgrades).
To fix OneTab, just go to “about:addons” in your Firefox address bar, click the ‘cog’ icon in the top right, and click ‘Check for updates’. This will upgrade you to OneTab v1.39, which fixes the issue.

Suggestion: Would be wonderful if you could specify which open tabs should be added to OneTab, as opposed to sending ALL open tabs to OneTab. - par Wagner Santos, il y a un jourNoté 5 sur 5

some of my tabs are needet for read later or redraw .. ff speed increases realy because of much less memory needed but the list is confusing. - par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 14738915 de Firefox, il y a 5 joursNoté 5 sur 5

mis en ligne : il y a 7 joursHi, a complete rewrite of the OneTab internals (version 1.50) is currently pending Mozilla review, and should go live in the next few days. - par Bryce, il y a 14 joursNoté 1 sur 5I also want to warn potential/current users of OneTab sharing your data to Google when you use the "share as web page" feature

mis en ligne : il y a 7 joursHi Bryce, this is a popular misconception. If you share some links as a web page, that can only show up in Google if you link to that page from another web site. If you don't publicly link to it, the page will not turn up in search results. - par PaPaYou, il y a 16 joursNoté 5 sur 5Module très pratique. Mais peut-on créer un groupe d'onglet?

- par Digital Dom, il y a 19 joursNoté 5 sur 5Amazingly useful. It even makes it easier to evaluate and reduce my tabs.
- par s20, il y a 19 joursNoté 4 sur 5Really great for briefly reorganizing or saving some tabs for later. It's not for long term storage, and shouldn't be used for that. My only complaint would be that it doesn't have a dark mode, and it seems to be immune to Midnight Lizard, so I'm stuck with a white page. There might be a way to fix this with custom CSS, but dark mode kinda should be built in by default.
- par VM, il y a 20 joursNoté 3 sur 5I found the almost perfect replacement for Firefox's (before v.57) TabGroups. OneTab fully closes the tabs and reloads the websites on restoring the tab. However, if this is what you need, OneTab works wonderfully.
