I've been using this add-on forever -- I used it back when it was called Link Toolbar (IIRC). I find it a substantial improvement of Firefox.
Link Widgets replaced my previous addon NextPlease. [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/390] Link Widgets is compatible with FF3 and a tiny bit smaller in size than NextPlease.
Although I dont have a script to make it work with Firegestures :-/ [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6366]
Very very useful tool, since I found that it provides two sets of keyboard shortcuts (that you could see by the extension "keyconfig" which is not found on this site), therefore, I remove both SmartPager 0.3.0.10 and PN-Buttons 1.2.3, as Link Widgets does do all of their jobs! Thanks for creating this helpful tools, I really eager for this kind of fast surfing tools for long time.
exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
loved this, very useful, especially with the keyboard shortcuts. Thankyou Nazgjunk and Ferada for posting those!
I do wonder why this isn't documented. To correct and add to previous post:
First: alt-shift-pageup OR accel-shift-,
Previous: alt-pageup OR accel-,
Next: alt-pagedown OR accel-.
Last: alt-shift-pagedown OR accel-shift-.
The shortcuts make this addon worth having ;)
Excellent extension. And actually there are keyboard shortcuts (even if had to
search for them): defaulting to alt+(shift)+pgup for up (top),
accel+(shift)+left/right or alt+(shift)+pgup/pgdown for
Nice Plugin. I would like to see Keyboard-Shortcuts for the Buttons, so you could navigate your favourite Webcomic only with keyboard.
The previous page button doesn't work with VGCats.com although the next page button does.
Also its too bad the buttons will mismatch with the theme, unless you have Tango.
All in all, I find Link Widgets to be much better than the buggy P.O.S. Rewind/Fastforward Buttons extension.
Useful for next/previous - otherwise see Locationbar2 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4014
I love this, I just have one wish: the option to look for links in the page controls both looking for rel='next' in the page and guessing that a link with the word Next is next. I'd like to find the rel's without the false positives of the word-guessing. Any chance of splitting that option into two? --ned at nedbatchelder dot com
Great extension. I'm looking forward to see it working with the next major SeaMonkey version which uses the Firefox toolkit.
Meanwhile I have a suggestion for two more buttons for in-document navigation as described in the following Bugzilla entry:
Excellent extension, but for some reason, unlike all my other toolbar buttons, these distort when I use userChrome.css to force the toolbars smaller.
Nearly perfect tool. Sadly it doesn't recognize the rev parameter within a-Tags (although it does semm to recognize rel-parameters).
The "Last"-Button seems to have the Menu-Arrow on it, when lit, whereas the "other pages" Button does not.
But appart from that it's a great tool. I like it and keep it. :)
The addon does exactly what it's supposed to do, but unfortunately it's no good for me since it conflicts with the locationbar² extension. With both extensions enabled, the link widget buttons are greyed out and never become enabled.
Have you tried with the most recent versions of Firefox, Link Widgets and locationbar² ?\r\n\r\nOn 3b5 with locationbar² 1.0.1 from the author\'s website (adjusted to install on 3b5) I see no such conflict.
Any chance this could have an option to put the buttons in the statusbar? (Like PN-Buttons, ./6254)
I always install this with Status Buttons, but that hasn't been updated in a looong time.
may you let user could set keyword about prev page/ next page in their own language?
I love this addon, for what I am doing on the net it's great. Can't say that many people could benefit using it.
There's one issue that I have with how I set it. It's on "guess next page based on the URL number" and it waits for the entire page to load before I can click for the next page. This is normal if it were searching for text on the page, but this is not the case. The number in the url is not going to change. So when going trough hundreds of pages, the time you lose while waiting for the page to load builds up.
But it's great how you can add different kinds of buttons to the toolbar, and move them around as you see fit.
This is really great to see the W3C features implemented (as I think it should be within Firefox) and in a logical and apparently comprehensive way. For anyone who gets this extension, I also recommend https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1386 to allow you to pick alternate stylesheets from a page--also a feature (I put them all in one toolbar as the other extension also has a "css" toolbar drop-drown).
