  • i love this appp back in the days i want it again for firefox 12 please update

  • Doesn't work. I'm using Firefox 3.6 with Windows 7.

  • Doesn't seem totally useful until you run it - then it becomes a must-have-extension.

    Please consider updating this extension and the chrome build as well. This extension is revolutionary and really deserves an update.

  • The search results started displaying below the Wikipedia article a long time ago. I also get unresponsive "chrome" scripts most of the time. In fact, it's become routine for me after a Google search to click "end script" and then scroll down. It's not enough to get me to uninstall the add-on yet but it's still quite annoying and I would like to see it fixed.

  • Good addon, but unfortunately Google Instant Previews makes it useless. Addon development seems to be abandoned, but I hope we will get an update.

  • SAME problem as you guys. Googlepedia does not work at all. Where is the developer focusing on lately?

  • This extension started working strangely since Google has rolled out Google Instant Previews in every search. That's a pity, because Googlepedia was far more useful than Instant Previews. And I didn't find where to disable the previews. :-(

  • Google search results are no longer appearing next to the Googlepedia halfpage, but below ... is anyone else having this problem? Is this due to a Google tweak?

  • The same problems that were mentioned by Mrak, DrMacinyasha and wntabegeek are my problems too. I hope the problems be solved in next version.

  • Works great after initial installation, then after a restart I'm getting no images, just a message stating "Sorry, there was no relevant article found." Really a great add on, just need this bug fixed. I'm using FF 3.6.3

  • Great add-on, but really needs to be updated for Google's new search results page, Google SSL Search, and when searching directly from Google.com

  • For those that use googlepedia I thought I would share my workaround since googles' change recently. First of all I really like the search option of being able to define the search in relation to time, so completely removing the sidebar was not something I wanted to do. With the change to google search, googlepedia would not display properly or not at all. I used one userscript which allows the sidebar to be toggled off and on http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/76155 and one userstyle http://userstyles.org/styles/29418. I then had to go into the userstyle and edit it to read:

    @namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);

    @-moz-document domain(google.com)

    {#leftnav {display:important;}

    #center_col {margin-left:0; margin-right:0 !important;}

    It would be nice if someone could put all this together in one userscript or userstyle but this works easily enough. I hope this is useful for anyone using firefox w/googlepedia.

  • Googlepedia worked when I searched through Firefox’s searchbar, but when I went directly to google.com and typed my seacrh query on that page, the addon didn’t work and no sidebar or googlepedia button showed up.

    When searching through search bar, the address bar showed this line: “http://www.google.com/search?q=obama…”. When searching through google’s page, the adress bar showed this line: “http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=obama…”.

    It's a nice addon, and in my case, usable through the searchbar when needed, but would have been even better if it worked properly through Google's page.

  • I stand corrected, it's working now, even with the normal home page. Not sure what causes this thing to bonk out every now and then, but what can you do? lol

  • Oh, it does work, you just have to have your homepage set to www.google.com/firefox, or use the search box at the upper right hand side. The blame can go both ways; Google updated their code, the add-on was not updated to compensate. Either way, there is a workaround. Four stars for there having to be a workaround, however.

  • It's a great extension but it isn't working since a couple of months ago

    Google sometimes serves up different search results pages for different people, if you can save the page and email it to me at rio@x5g.com, that would be great.

  • These Googepedia guys are losing it. As we all know, it stopped working completely x number of reviews back. Originally I emailed the developer and he responded that he was unfamiliar with the problem - couldn't repeat it. So I just left it up, and sure enough, as I suspected it started working again. But now, in unpredictable ways/times it can cause Firefox to freeze while it is searching for, or trying to load, a page. Not good. At first I thought Google was shutting them down as this app was closing off their ads. There still may be something going on there, but it would be great if the publisher would give us the real story. If the "Never be Evil" Google is the problem, this Board could help to fix it.

    Google will frequently try out new layout ideas or subtle tweaks on randomly selected users, add this to the tweaked localized versions too and you've got a lot of different result pages to cater for. The code does a fairly good job of trying to figure out where to insert itself, but doesn't work for search result pages I've yet to encounter.

    If you can save the page and email it to me at rio@x5g.com I can troubleshoot the issue for you.

    Thanks,
    James

  • Yah! what DoveBoy said.

  • Would be better if can set the width that article display.

  • this isn't working for me, it's just regular google with no wikipedia article, only now google doesn't take up the whole page, only part of it, and the other part of blank

  • Really great!

  • Please fix this broken extension that used to deserve 5 stars. Now All I get are Google ads on the side.

    I did vote up the issue on your issues page as well.

  • It's definitely one of the more useful addons I've tried over the years. I can't overstate how often it has saved me time and provided convenience in displaying relevant information on a search. While not perfect (yet, as observed by Linh Bui) by any means, it certainly gives, and gives.
