  • As a previous user already mentioned, the add-on is not compatible with Firefox Quantum.
    Was a 5 star-worthy addon before that.
  • Was really good before. A life saver. I really need this, as I've moved over to using Google Music for ally my music pretty much. This worked perfectly with older Firefox, but now that I've updated it stopped working and I've fond no replacement that does this. It's so very true that you don't realize how good something is until it's gone. Would definitely give this a 5 star review if it was fixed, as it did exactly as advertised and expected before, but is sadly not working anymore.
  • Only major thing missing from Firefox. If I could control Google Play Music from the media keys, Chrome would be dust. Unfortunately, this addin doesn't work with a Microsoft media keyboard.
  • It works as it says on the tin. Thanks!
  • Works fine, except the "previous" song button, means I cant go back to the last song, I only can re-start the current song
    Win10, G510s
  • It's useless.
  • Using Windows 8.1 x64 with latest Firefox x64. Didn't work with my Logitech G110 Keyboard.
  • works very nice. Win10 x64 FF 50.1.0
  • Work perfectly, nothing to say :)

    Windows 10
  • Recommended!
  • Exactly what I needed, controls Google Music with media keys from anywhere in the PC
  • The "previous" media key only skips backwards to the beginning of the current song. It's not possible to go to the previous song that was playing. Otherwise the add-on works fine. 64-bit, Firefox 43.0.4
  • Great Add-On but sadly not working with Firefox 43.0.3 64bit, looks like the DLL for the Hotkeys is only x86.

    Can you please fix this?
  • This is some excellent work to create a global hotkey. Maybe you can team up with Carlin and myself. We are trying to bring media keys to Mac too. Carline took care of Windows and Linux.

Are you familiar with setting up global hotkey on Mac OS X?

    Here is Carlins addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/media-keys/

And this is where we are discussing the mac os x support: https://github.com/carlin-q-scott/browser-media-keys/issues/17

We are doing this from ChromeWorkers/off-the-main-thread.

  • Seems that some interface changes made by Google broke the addon.
As a temporary fix simply edit "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[your_profile]\extensions\{cad52e60-d607-11e2-8b8b-0800200c9a66}\content\browserOverlay.js" and replace "getElementsByTagName("sj-icon-button")" with getElementsByTagName("paper-icon-button") in line 221.
  • Works perfectly on Windows 10. Thank you!
  • Did not work for me.
  • Google changed the web interface in 05/2015, so the addon doesn't work anymore. I'm using this temporary fix until the author fixes the addon officially: edit the file %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[your_profile]\extensions\{cad52e60-d607-11e2-8b8b-0800200c9a66}\content\browserOverlay.js, on line 219 replace getElementsByTagName("button") by getElementsByTagName("sj-icon-button")
  • Worked perfectly before May 14, 2015 update. Useless now because it no longer works. If anyone knows a fix, that would be awesome.
  • Doesn't work currently with an update to google play. Hopefully this can be fixed soon. Was working fine before the update.
  • It doesn't seem to work very well with Firefox 64-bit but I don't really know how to debug that situation, maybe a problem with loading a 32-bit dll in a 64-bit process ?
  • Works flawlessly with my Corsair K70's media keys.
  • Could you make it work with logitech setpoint software?
  • Does not work with Logitech K800
  • Doesn't work. I've tried everything I can think of. A similar app, Prime Music, for Chrome works flawlessly and gives you much better interaction, notifications, etc.
