Ă propos de cette extension
Ever looked up and realized you typed a whole sentence with the keyboard on the
wrong language? You meant one thing and got nonsense:
Persian: you meant "ŰłÙŰ§Ù " but typed "sghl"
Arabic: you meant "Ù Ű±Űۚۧ" but typed "lvpfh"
Russian: you meant "ĐżŃĐžĐČĐ”Ń" but typed "ghbdtn"
Ukrainian: you meant "ĐżŃĐžĐČŃŃ" but typed "ghbdsn"
Greek: you meant "ÎșαληΌÎÏα" but typed "kalhm;era"
Fixito turns it back in one click, with no retyping, in either direction.
Select the mistyped text, right-click, and choose "Fix keyboard layout". Fixito reads the keys you actually pressed and rewrites them as the letters you meant, in either direction. It works in text fields, search boxes, and editable content; on pages you cannot edit, the corrected text is copied to your clipboard instead.
Fixito is a keyboard-layout corrector, not a translator. It recovers the exact words you intended to type; it does not change their language.
Supported languages: Persian, Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian, and Greek, each mapped from the standard Windows keyboard layout.
How it works
1. Pick your language besides English once. Fixito guesses it from your browser on
install, so most people can skip this.
2. Select the text that came out wrong on any page.
3. Right-click and choose "Fix keyboard layout", or press the shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+U by default, set under Manage Extension Shortcuts), or use the optional floating quick-fix button.
4. The text is corrected in place, or copied for you if the field is read-only.
Features
- Two-way fix: your language to English, and English to your language.
- Five languages: Persian, Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian, Greek.
- Smart reading: works out Shift and Caps Lock slips word by word, and preserves details like the Persian Űą.
- Four ways to use it: the right-click menu, an optional keyboard shortcut, an optional floating quick-fix button, and a toolbar popup converter.
- Learns your keyboard variant as you use it (for example the two Persian standards).
- Fully local and private: no account, no network requests, no data collection. Everything runs on your device.
