Come Back ! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles
Since few days, FaceBook propose "I Like" button for websites.
To create the button, the webmaster uses an iframe to http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php with the url of the website in parameter.
But, even if we don't want to click on this button, FaceBook known we have visited this website.
If your not connected, they script create a temporary ID and log all your visits with this ID. Next time you log in FB, they can link your navigation to your profil.
So, this seems similare to the old beacon system, and I ask if you can adapt your script to block the iframe connection ?
Beacon discontinued Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
Facebook voluntarily disabled its beacon program in early October of 2009. Is this add-on still needed?
Facebook setting not enough Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles
Just disabling in Beacons in Facebook is not enough. See wikipedia 'Facebook Beacon' under privacy concerns and you'll say they, in the past, have still collected information.
Why is this even needed? Noté 1 sur 5 étoiles
Why not just disable beacon tracking in Facebook options, surely makes far more sense to actually turn it off rather than installing an extension to block it??? (Option is in Settings>Privacy settings>Applications>Settings tab - Tick the "Don't allow..." box under "Beacon Websites")

I haven't seem it do any harm. But I haven't seenit do me any good either. I don't think I needed Beacon Blocker - but if YOU need it, I think it works without side-effects.
