When choosing a running application will not register the information in a file externalapp.rdf and the application will not start.
Correction is performed manually by editing the file externalapp.rdf located in the Firefox profile or allows you to copy from older versions of Firefox
var isize = "?size="+ nsPreferences.getIntPref('extensions.externalapp.default.iconsize').toString();
Very cool addon but the Parameter does not work, after Save click it doesn't save the settings ...
Works like a charm for me. I use it everyday.
My Firefox is always up-to-date -- v51.0-b6 (32-bit) right now and with no problems at all.
Smart and practical addon. But does not work when you open a url in external player. Usually we open a URL in most players by Ctrl+U. Are there any special parameter to open a url in a player from the browser? Luckily I can to solve this problem with the AppLauncher addon.
Take a LNK-file as a target and everything is done :)
Very good ,it works very well on FF42.0 .
I use this to fire up my AES 256bit encrypted Steganos Locknote file on USB stick. Really handy ! Thank You !
I liked the old version, but it doesn't work with the newer firefox versions. This version now does, but i'm missing the possibility to set my own commandline parameters. There is only the posibility to choose some given parameters out of a combobox. As far as i know, in older versions you could specify your own commandline parameters. Therefor only 4 instead of 5 stars.
Can this featuere be integrated?
Thank, great add for FF (currently running on v 30). Very easy to configure ....
You have to drag the toolbar icon out of the Customize Toolbars window onto the Navigation Bar. The icon isn't labeled. It's a square grey thing in the top row.
Please update for ver.29
Where can I find "externalappOverlay.xul" to change the line 52 ?
Added buttons staying inactive, only title "Applications" stay visible... :(
Please fix it
Work great for setting up links and assigning custom icons!
firefox23 can not work
Super useful - no surprise I'm not the only one who really appreciates this.
Also there have been some good suggestions, IMO. Folder shortcuts would be nice. Obviously then if one needed to save space any number of shortcuts could be put in a single custom folder....
My highest rating though just because having cool app buttons in the browser is SO nifty!
Now that my navbar has accumulated a slew of extra buttons, my suggestion would be to make it possible to place them VERTICALLY in Vertical Toolbar. Perhaps this could be accomplished simply with an individual placement ability instead of them all being located as a bloc? I dunno - maybe just toss them into the customize bin?
Trandom might like to try "File and Folder Shortcuts 1.4".
Very nice. Handy for the few programs that I often use while browsing.
For me though, perfection would be if we could have an option to put the applications in submenu rather than a separate button each time?
Five stars anyway, very good.
Now I don't have to minimize Firefox to do other things.
Pretty nice add-on but unfortunately I cant set custom icons on ff20 under Linux.
Example App: /usr/bin/vlc
With other icon setting: standard KDE image preview icon.
Without icon setting: standard cog symbol
This applies to every button.
Very excellent! Thanks!
I'm using it to launch my other Firefox profiles and versions.
Thanks for developing it.
Very usefull and excellent. It can be used to create a toolbar thak makes your life eaiser.Folder shortcut would be great update ;)
Excellent. This is the reincarnation of one of my all-time favorite extensions - a must have. Very handy and easy to use, altho' it did take a minute to find on my toolbar.
The ability to separate the buttons would be icing on the cake, but I've lived with it and do not see it as a major concern. I am so glad this extension is back.
Thank you for its update and revival.
Easy to use and very useful.
