Oh my, it's updated for 3.6 now! Thanks for that.
Just one suggestion, please add an option to not hide the default search menu command. I find it very handy to have the current engine on the main popup menu along with the rest in the addon's submenu.
Works great in firefox 3.6. Installing https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003 allows one to ignore version checks and report compatibility.
Great extension, please update for Firefox 3.6. Thanks!!
please update it. make it support firefox 3.6
Just what I was looking for! Also, it seems Arctificial's bug on the search tab gaining focus it's fixed, now it opens on a background tab.
Please Please Please this extension is perfect, just needs 1 thing, let us put the search engines right into the principal context menu (not through a sub-menu). Or if we have a bunch of search engines let us select the amount of engines to be put right in the context menu and the others in the sub menu.
It's been 6 MONTHS since i wrote a mail to developer about a problem with latest (0.4.4) version but still NOTHING fixed. It was his fault to make it so, and he even accepted his fault, but still he updated nothing. I never seen such a careless developer. I know, developers have a life too, but sorry, this is six months we're talking about.
By the way, the problem was every once we searched something thru (ONLY) Context Search extension it focuses us to the new opened tab. (Previous version was the opposite.) It's extremely annoying when you're searching one word in multiple sites. (I'm doing that on like ten websites, so you imagine it)
I'm providing extensions as a courtesy, not some kind of right. If you don't like it, go elsewhere.
I use it every day. It's especially useful for comparisoon shopping.
for those willing to use it with a firefox version newer than 3.5 (e.g firefox 3.6beta), I wrote a how-to, available here : http://rfournier.homelinux.org/~raph/freeblog/archives/2009/12/22/installing_a_not-yet_supported_extension_on_your_firefox-beta/index.html
great extension by the way, thanks
I don't ever use the search bar since I prefer to enter search keywords into the address bar, but I had been stuck with it anyway because there was no other way to select the search engine used for searches initiated from the context menu. This add-on removes that obstacle. Thank you. :)
-It's been mentioned before, but how about right clicking on a single word and context menu pops up? Smartsearch and web search pro have this built in, so context search is missing the needed functionality.
-An icon would be very useful, especially when your using darker themes.
Klein aber fein - erspart eine Menge Copy & Paste
Absolutely brilliant! Extremely convenient and time-saving.
I've teemed this up with Context Highlight. Along with the 45± search plug-ins I've added and made, who needs a toolbar;))
please add icon in menu!
Left-click doesn't open in background. It switches immediately to the new tab, no matter which mouse button used. Also I miss the ability to enable/disable search engines used in the context menu. However, still a useful addon. Hoping the update will fix the mentioned issues.
Needs an icon so you can find it quickly in a cluttered context menu.
Great add-on, but I'd like the searches to be directly in the right click menu instead of a submenu.
One of my most used addon!
Should be a build-in feature.
This functionality should be in Firefox by default. It's indispensable for me...
Would love to see an update, this is an indispensable add-on and one of my favourites. This functionality should really be integrated into FF.
Bardzo dobre rozszerzenie. Zaznaczamy tekst i zamiast biegać do paska wyszukiwarki (bo nie chcemy szukać na wybranej stronie), możemy wybrać inną wyszukiwarkę prosto z menu..
Calling it indispensable would be an understatement. Should have been a default function of Firefox.
