Class Compass Privacy Policy

Class Compass is committed to protecting your privacy. The extension does not collect, store, sell, or share personal information about its users. No account or sign-up is required to use the extension, and Class Compass does not access your name, email address, student ID, login credentials, grades, course enrollment, financial information, or browsing activity outside of supported university course registration pages.

When you visit a supported course registration page, Class Compass reads the instructor names displayed on that page and sends those names to the Class Compass service solely for the purpose of retrieving publicly available professor rating information. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests. The returned ratings are displayed directly within the registration page, and clicking a rating opens the corresponding Rate My Professors profile in a new browser tab. Class Compass is not affiliated with or endorsed by Rate My Professors.

Class Compass does not use advertising trackers, analytics services, cookies, or any technology designed to identify or track individual users. Any temporary caching performed by the extension exists only to improve performance and is stored locally within your browser. This cached information contains only publicly available professor rating data and is never used to identify you.

Like virtually all internet services, our hosting provider may temporarily process technical information such as IP addresses as part of standard network operations. Class Compass does not intentionally collect, retain, or use this information to identify users.

This extension is intended for use by college and university students and is not directed toward children under the age of 13. Because Class Compass does not collect personal information, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Class Compass after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
