I wanna try your extension with this podcast : https://www.radiofrance.fr/franceculture/podcasts/serie-howard-becker-sociologue-en-marges (or any other podcasts from the same site) but each time I click on the AudD icon, the playing stops completely. The reading looks paused (...or frozen ?).
Whatever the order of actions (for example, click on the extension icon first, then hit "play" on the website, or vice-versa), it seems impossible to, at the same time, play the podcast AND have the extension activated.
I authorized all cookies in the extension's settings, and my adblock is deactivated.
Almost forgot, other example : I wanna use your extension with a musical tv steaming site (you can't access this site, but it's a very common tv channel's site like many others), here your extension seems to work... but recognize absolutely nothing. I tested it with many french video clips of several genres, not a single result.
So finally, for me, the real use cases for this extension are very limited. How do you explain these bugs?Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a un anThanks for adding the info on the browser/OS/sound card. As it works for us on the website, it's likely an issue with Firefox somehow not capturing audio it's sending to the sound card. Can you please try to disconnect the external sound card and then use the extension? If it works, please let us know, we'll then try to figure out what exactly Firefox does with the sound card and how to fix it and capture audio. - Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 18007978 de Firefox, il y a 2 ans
- Noté 4 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 18007758 de Firefox, il y a 2 ansWorks, but doesn't recognize audio playing on soundcloud and mixcloud (these are the main reason I use an identifier). Any chance of an update including these sites?

mis en ligne : il y a 2 ansThanks for the review!
For Discord, we can recommend using our bot instead of the add-on. It can listen to audio in voice channels, and it can also identify music in media in text channels.
The demo server: https://discord.gg/audd
The bot invite link: https://audd.cc/discord-bot
The App Directory link: https://discord.com/application-directory/704782697754525711
Our understanding is that Discord audio isn't available to capture by the extension as Discord outputs it directly, and not through a media element on the page. Please let us know if you know of an extension that can record audio on the Discord website, we'll try to figure out how to do something similar. - Noté 3 sur 5par Anexzs, il y a 2 ansIt's simple, works, and doesn't bug the audio. Though, I think they need to up their database a little cause a lot of songs I try to detect don't get any results.
Update: Requires a token, which has a free trial you can only use for a few weeks or so. Disappointing - Noté 1 sur 5par Ed, il y a 2 ans

mis en ligne : il y a 2 ansHi, so sorry about that! It seems that there was a bug related to the extension auth. We couldn't reproduce it but tried to fix the potential underlying cause in a new version.
Can you please try to update the extension and see whether the error persists?
Did you see the "Recognition failed: authorization failed: wrong api_token" error, or was it something else? What's your OS and Firefox version?- Noté 3 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 12744283 de Firefox, il y a 2 ansIn my previous review, I gave this extension a 1-star rating due to a bug that required a subscription to perform any actions. However, I believe the issue has since been fixed, so I decided to give this extension another try.
According to the addon description, it claims to "Identify any music from any website in your browser." One might assume that this means you can freely identify any song on any page, considering the extension is open-source and the developer has a donation link on the page. Unfortunately, that assumption is incorrect. It does work for free on YouTube and Twitch (and possibly on some other websites), but on any other site, an active subscription to the service is required. Regrettably, the developer failed to disclose this information in the description.
Regarding YouTube song recognition, I attempted to identify songs on lofi girl music streams (both lofi and synthwave radios), but it failed most of the time. This was surprising, given that it was practically the same use case as shown in the demo video.
For standalone songs, the recognition works fairly well. However, when there is someone speaking over the song, such as in let's play videos or on Twtich streams, its reliability significantly decreases, even for popular music. Based on my limited testing, it was able to identify only 2 out of 10 songs in different attempts. That's quite disappointing.Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 2 ansHi, thanks a lot for the update!
- There are 10 websites where the extension is not supposed to work without an API token, to prevent people (usually, employees of these websites' owners) from using the extension for work. The list:
"watzatsong", "coub", "gyrostream.com", "cms.onerpm.com", "rumedia.io", "decabroda.studio", "adsintegrity.net", "file:///", "v16-tcs.tiktokcdn.com", "rmxindia.in", "vk.com".
The extension should work on any website that doesn't have any of these strings in the URL.
Can you please send us a link where the extension refused to identify the song? This is likely a bug (perhaps a false positive match with the strings above?). Our email is firefox@audd.io.
- Regarding YouTube streams, some of them broadcast songs that are "not copyrighted"/were not released on digital platforms, and unfortunately we don't have them in our DB.
- 2 out of 10 songs with people talking over is quite a low number; can you try increasing the recording length in the settings to 12 seconds and see if that improves?
We really appreciate you giving the extension another try and making the update! - Noté 3 sur 5par RokeJulianLockhart, il y a 2 ansSlow to recognize when compared to Shazam. No history, much less synchronized to something like last.fm. No automatic music recognition. Doesn't modify the colouration of its graphical interface to adhere to theme of browser nor system. Would like a link on lyrics' page to view the lyrics at their origin rather than within the extension.

mis en ligne : il y a 2 ansHi, thank you so much for the feedback!
You can change the speed of music recognition (the number of seconds it records the audio for before sending it to the music recognition API) in the settings. Were you able to see the settings section?
There is history. Every identified song is added to it. Do you not see it? It’s displayed below the identified song or if there’s no audio on the current page.
Can you please tell us what you mean by automatic music recognition?
Thank you for the feedback regarding changing the graphical interface. We’d be happy if someone contributed to the extension (it’s open source and published on GitHub) and added the design and support for the various browser themes. It wouldn’t be great if everything is dark and there was our extension with a bright background. Do you, by any chance, have examples of extensions that are great at doing this?
The music recognition API doesn’t provide links to the origin of the lyrics. The idea is that it’s possible to read along. Do you feel like it would be better if, instead, there was a link that opened google for the lyrics or searched on some service that provides lyrics?
We’d really appreciate the answers or any other help with that!
