Works Great - can we block videos in empty folder view? Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

This addon is super. It does exactly waht is says it should. But now Yahoo is showing news videos in an empty folder - like when I empty my trash, it now shows news videos and other news. Can you make this addon block this so that an empty folder just shows emptiness?

EDIT: block videos from yahoo mail empty folder. stop videos playing yahoo mail empty folder:::

I did find a way to stop this behavior.
For others wanting to rid themselves of this garbage, just add the following to your hosts file.

...and bingo, videos are gone, all Yahoo mail functions stay intact.

Happy Surfing,

Fix coming soon

Hi c129,
Thank you for the appreciation! The fix for these new video ads is already in the works, and is coming soon in next release.

its blocking the header of yahoo email very effective

New issue with Yahoo Mail Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Always an add on of choice, but while it blocks the top panel (advertisement) on Yahoo Mail, only half of the page remains. It would be nice to be able to utilize the entire page.

Not Blocking Intuit / Turbo Tax Banner Ad In Yahoo Email Noté 4 sur 5 étoiles

Does not seem to be blocking the very large Banner Ad at the top of Yahoo Email page which is from Intuit / Turbotax .. one of the most intrusive and annoying ads I have ever seen. This will not entice me to buy Turbo Tax or Intuit products.

New ad, will be fixed in a later release

Thanks for your review. This is a relatively new (and region specific) ad, and will be fixed in the next update.

Excellent way to fight annoying ads Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Works just great. Removes all yahoo garbage...
PLEASE: incorporate removal of damn annoying yahoo videos playing in your inbox if you have no mail in it. I hate this yahoos at yahoo coming with more and more band wasters...

Thanks for the update

Hi FirefoxJova,
Thanks for the appreciation, and also for the update. I didn't know that they have another ad when you have no mails. I'll test it, and once I'm able to see that video ad will try to upload the fix as soon as possible.

Wonderful "add-on" wish I'd found it sooner Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Oh what a joy to find this add-on - my email provider dumped me into Yahoo mail and the adds and "spammy" emails were driving me nuts. This add-on did exactly what it promised to do. If I could award more stars I would have done - Thank-you

this worked immediately Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

I now no longer have objectionable ads in my mail showing women as s*x objects (or any other kind of ad). It worked immediately without even restarting the computer.

Thank you!

For Pale Moon users Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

The current 2.50 still does not work at all with Pale Moon. Users of Pale Moon can use Webmail Ad Blocker 4.25.1 signed which blocks all ads except the embedded inbox ad and also expands to fill full screen. The Ublock Origin 1.6.1 add-on will block the embedded inbox ad that the former add-on does not so combining both of these two add-ons will get the same result that this add-on does that only supports Firefox. (To be fair I'm giving 5-stars because the developer's intention is to only support Firefox), but thought I'd post this for the benefit of Pale Moon users. Note that the former (Webmail Ad Blocker) add-on also expands the page UI to fill full screen for not only Yahoo but also for Hotmail, Gmail and as well.

Needs Update (Revised) Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

The stickiness problem has been resolved for now so I'm deleting my original comment and raising my Rating for the fast response. This is a great app and works removing both top and side blank spaces and filling out the mailbox.. Seems also to have survived disk and cookie cleaning which I thought may have caused my problem. Highly recommend the app.

Can you try now?

Hi gregbanks,
Thanks for your review. A new version is put out there, can you see if it solves your problems? It does stick (at least for a given version) for most, so if you still see the problem, please contact the support address given.

A bit too wide Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Great add-on. However now the Yahoo mail app is a bit too wide. When I can see my folders on the left side the e-mail text runs off-screen at the right and vice versa. Is there a way to shrink the e-mail panel by a few columns so I don't have to scroll left and right continuously?

You ANGEL! Thanks Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

I've had my Yahoo account for about 12 years but they keep making it more frustrating to use. Yesterday the space to actually read my email was only 50% of the whole page and the email address of the sender showed only 4 letters. I searched and found this add-on and not only can I now see the whole address, I can read the whole subject line! I was looking for a way to a wider viewing area, as I read these either on an iPad, PC or laptop. Not all of us read emails on our phones. I already use Adblock Plus, so I didn't have to worry about the ads. .
Thank you so much. I even registered as a user here just to tell you this.

I could NOT look at Yahoo Mail without this !! Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

I am serious.. I also have email, which is run by Yahoo.. it would drive me nuts to see all those ads on the side again after being used to NO ADS for so long.. so far I haven't had any problems with any upgrade...THANKS

Yahoo would hate it if Yahoo Mail Hide Ad Panel were included in the basic Firefox installation Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

I'm on a new computer. I was checking my yahoomail. The word wrapping was poor, and I realized the rightside ad panel was interfering. (It didn't have an ad in it, because AdBlocker Plus was already installed.)

So I came to Add-Ons, did a search for Yahoo Ad Space, and found my beloved Yahoo Mail Hide Ad Panel, again.

I installed it, was Not asked to restart Firefox, went back to the yahoomail page, the empty right panel was gone, and the email was all spread out and word-wrapped nicely.

5 stars thank you so much! I google how to remove those stupid ads and your add-on was the first result!

Screw you Yahoo! You're lucky I don't use a different provider! You'll NEVER get my phone number, and I'll NEVER pay you a dime!

No configuration options at all? Noté 5 sur 5 étoiles

Well.. it works perfectly and reminds me why Firefox will be forever my default browser - where else do you get so many great add-ins?

I installed YMAHP 'cos I'm furious about the fake email advert that appears just above 1st email.

The sidebar one on the right I'd got quite accustomed to and it even brightens the page up a bit. And I'm unlikely to click there be accident.

So as soon as I'd installed YHMAP I looked for a config option to just block the fake email ads (which look and behave exactly like spam). No config options?

Hi muzikmad,
Thanks for your review. Frankly, I didn't imagine there'd be a request to "allow" a particular ad in the page. I've seen no one so far who likes ads :). If there are a couple more requests for this, I will implement the same.
