This document describes the data handled by the official Twitch Flags Firefox extension. The public Twitch Flags privacy policy is the policy of record for the Twitch Flags service.
On supported Twitch live chat, VOD chat, and Creator Dashboard chat pages, the extension observes usernames and Twitch numeric user IDs so it can place the correct public flag beside each username.
For each lookup, the extension sends a Twitch numeric user ID to https://twitchflags.live/api/flags/. The service returns the same Twitch numeric user ID and a two-letter country or territory code, or reports that no public flag is set.
The extension does not transmit chat-message text, passwords, Twitch OAuth tokens, cookies, browsing history outside supported Twitch pages, or the extension placement preference.
The extension stores the before-or-after username placement preference in Firefox local extension storage. It also caches Twitch numeric user ID and public flag results locally for up to seven days to reduce network requests. Reloading the top-level Twitch page clears the local flag-result cache. Firefox also removes extension storage when the extension is uninstalled, subject to browser behavior.
People publish, change, or remove their own flag through twitchflags.live. Twitch numeric user ID-to-flag mappings are public by design. The website privacy policy explains service providers, public response caching, retention, security, user choices, and the site's Twitch sign-in flow.
