Bring the sleek, dark, neon-accented gaming aesthetic of Opera GX to Firefox. GX Sidebar is a high-performance, fully customizable control center that lives on the edge of your screen, giving you instant access to your favorite tools without cluttering your tabs.
✨ CORE FEATURES
• Integrated Messengers & AI Hub: Keep WhatsApp, Discord, and Twitch pinned in slide-out panels. Includes a built-in library of daily AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Kimi, Qwen, ChatGLM) and lets you add any custom web URL as a sidebar tab.
• GX Control (RAM Limiter): Keep your system smooth. The RAM monitor estimates memory usage and can actively force heavy background tabs to sleep (discard) to keep you under your set limit.
• GX Cleaner: A quick-access dashboard to wipe cache, cookies, history, and downloads for the last hour, 24 hours, or all time.
• GX Player: Universal media controller. Play, pause, and skip audio/video playing in any background tab. Includes quick-launch pins for Spotify and Apple Music.
• Deep Customization: Change the neon accent color (GX Red, Cyber Blue, Neon Purple, etc.) and toggle specific sidebar icons on or off to keep your workspace clean.
⚡ PERFORMANCE & PRIVACY
Built for Firefox Manifest V3. Animations are hardware-accelerated for 60fps scrolling. We respect your privacy: GX Sidebar collects zero telemetry or user data. All your settings, pinned panels, and custom AI links are stored locally on your machine.
💡 PRO-TIP: The "Floating" Look
By default, the sidebar uses Firefox's native side-panel architecture for maximum stability. If you want the absolute purest, header-less "floating" overlay look (removing the native Firefox sidebar title bar), you can easily achieve this using a standard userChrome.css tweak.
(Note: The Network Limiter feature provides a visual bandwidth profile and toolbar badge. Because Firefox WebExtensions cannot throttle OS-level network bandwidth, this serves as a visual reminder and UI toggle rather than a hard network shaper).
