Please fix this:
Version 4.1 is shown as compatible with FF 52-56 when it clearly doesn't work properly with those FF versions (at least not with FF 56) and is really meant for FF 57+ (same as GM 4.0, and 4.2 anyway).
FF 56 continues to offer GM 4.1 as an update, but updating from 3.17 to 4.1 causes most userscripts to stop working for the corresponding pages. Even though GM *seems* to work fine and the userscripts are shown as enabled, they never get loaded.
Version 3.17 still works fine with the very same userscripts on FF 56.
No longer working in the latest version,. I am disappointed to say the most and that any or all future scripts i try to implement no longer work and they have problems (I have ditched this extension in favor of Tapermonkey it just werks.)
Normally, when I like an add-on, I try to explain why, but it's friggin' Greasemonkey. It's been around for years. Everyone already knows what it does. Go download it, reader.
Now for criticism.
The WebExtensions move has broken userscripts running in iframes, and prevents Greasemonkey from logging syntax errors (as opposed to run-time errors) to the console. The built-in code editor has automatic indentation, which can't be turned off or customized (say, to change it from two spaces to three). The code editor is also horrendous to use on mobile: syntax highlighting breaks text selection (this is common on Firefox Android) and the page doesn't behave stably when zoomed, making the "Save" button incredibly difficult to hit. It also doesn't appear to be possible to install from *.USER.JS URLs anymore.
hey program is not working
Que no necesito esperar lo molestos 5 segundos, pero me gustaria que fuera compatible con las versiones de mozilla firefox mas antiguas desde la version 50.0.1
Used this for years - made my own script for it.
New update comes, stops working. Fair enough .. security or something.
Couldn't get it to work again. No idea how you're meant to modify the DOM.
Wiki full of pages saying how the content is out of date and won't help. A small example of how to break out of the sandbox and modify the DOM would go a long way to getting anyone to update their scripts and not just install tampermonkey (which I did, and it worked straight away)
If you are finding a alternative, choose ViolentMonkey, it's also open source.
So yeah, GM doesn't even work anymore. In FF 57, after the latest update, there isn't even a way to open the dashboard anymore, so there is not way to add a script. So essentially, GM is completely useless now. Way to go guys! At least we have TamperMonkey to turn to.
jQuery not to work
I like you because make my job succes
The old version was FANTASTIC!!
The new version doesn't work with my 3.17 scripts.
GM >=4 can't read scripts from the filesystem. So crap. So you have to use the crappy GM>=4 code editor.
The new GM also can't seem to access window variables, I can't be bothered to figure out why because I wouldn't want to use the GM4.x code editor. The Violentmonkey workaround I found online of serving the script from a local webserver sucks. It's a stupid and useless pain.
This is the worst update EVER!!!!!
GM >=4 sucks and I'm sticking to 3.17.
If you want to run GM 3.17 this is what you need:
run it like this
nohup /opt/firefox-56.0.2/firefox --no-remote -P foobar-profile 'http://foobar.com/' >/dev/null 2>&1 &
Go to preferences tell firefox to never update.
Disable GM 3.17 update
make new false boolean value named
Install GM 3.17
