The only real drawbacks are that many features on a website are blocked, including captchas, and soetimes entire websites that arelegitimate won't allow you to access them. in that case, I must open another browser with Ghostery installed to access them, which is a bit of a pain, but easily overcome if you recognise what's going on.
So 4 out 5 Stars is generous, as the limitations placed on regualr browsing can sometimes outweigh the benefits,

Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to test running Ghostery simultaneously with other content blockers in the browser and we recommend deciding for one as there might be issues where the different content blockers rules exclude each other.
Running multiple content blockers in parallel is for advanced users - like in your case - where you know how to recover if issues pop up.

(YouTube becomes incredibly laggy and videos will take forever to load). I submitted a ticket to the Ghostery support team and they said they fixed the issue, but the problem is not fixed even a little bit.

Unfortunately all ad blockers are confronted with the same problem. We’ve recently rolled out several fixes addressing issues with YouTube, and the latest Ghostery version should provide a more stable experience.
Best, Ghostery Team - Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut Si, seitsemän päivää sittenBeen having issues with Youtube being seriously slow over the past week, been examining my PiHole for any issues, but then went through my browser extensions one by one and found that Ghostery was slowing it down to the point where videos wasn't loading thumbnails. Once I'd removed the Ghostery extension, Youtube worked properly again.

We’ve made several updates recently to improve Ghostery’s behavior on YouTube, and things should now be more stable. We’re continuing to monitor the experience and work on further improvements where needed.

Maybe other web-sites works worse performance wise (its funny to see when website assemble itself visibly like i'm using my old Pentium 4 PC from that era). But you gotta choose privacy or performance in today's reality :/
