The Echo browser extension is a companion to the Echo app for Mac. Everything stays on your own Mac, and nothing is ever sent to us or any third party.

What it accesses: on supported sites (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, SoundCloud, etc.) it reads the now-playing details the site already publishes (title, artist, artwork via the Media Session API, plus play/pause state and position) and the address of the playing page.

Where it goes: only to the Echo app running locally on your Mac, over a local connection (localhost / 127.0.0.1) that never leaves your computer. We operate no server, make no external requests with your data, and there is no tracking, analytics, advertising, or account. Your information is never sold or shared.
